Some final shots of the mural I completed last week for @artuplowell in Lowell, MA. I have always loved this phrase, and feel honored I was able to paint it and hopefully inspire the students of this school.

My contribution to the inaugural @artcitylowell festival. We got a good 6 hours of painting in before the rain! Good food, good music, and great company... Can't wait until next year!

Big thanks to @quest.nine for organizing and inviting me to participate! 🖤 taken in Lowell, Massachusetts by @sophytuttle

See @SophyTuttle painting her “Riparian Ribbon” #mural this week high up along the new gateway ribbon arches at Carl Barron Plaza in #Cambridge’s Central Square. The public art project—funded by the City of @CambridgeMass and overseen by #CambridgeArts—celebrates our wild neighbors along the #CharlesRiver.

And join us for the opening reception for the reimagined plaza this Friday, Oct. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. Free! by @sophytuttle

🎨 @sophytuttle for @beyondwallslynn
📍 58 Buffum St

As a nature buff, zoology major, and scientific-illustrator wannabe (medical illustration paid more), I have always adored this artist’s nature-themed murals. Animals, birds, flowers, she does it all. As I’m looking at these masterfully painted hands, I keep thinking about her telling me that she was concerned about painting them because she hadn’t done that many human hands. I’d say that fear was unfounded. 👏

A cacophony of nature in this mural by @sophytuttle . One can easily see many forms of nature swirling around this wall.. animals, birds, insects, sea life, reptiles and flowers and leaves.Yet still it left me with a calm and peaceful feeling. #nature #travelnerd #streetartcities taken in Boston, Massachusetts by @sophytuttle

“The Power of Migration: The Paths We Take” by @sophytuttle ⬇️

Through Classroom to the Streets, Sophy came up with this concept in collaboration with students and art and science teachers from @lynnpublicschools. This cohort reflected on the idea of Lynn being a safe haven and landing place for immigrant communities and how this makes the city stronger. By relating immigration to the natural world depicting migration patterns of monarchs, whales, and birds all native to Massachusetts, Sophy and her cohort were able to combine stories from both human and non-human worlds to weave a composition of elements that allude to the power and concept of home.

Swipe ➡️ for the sweetest note we received from wall owners @endhomelessnessma thanking us for their new mural! ✉️🌿🦋🥹

Sophy and her cohort did an amazing job on this piece at 73 Buffum and we are so thankful for the partnership of this incredible local nonprofit for allowing us to paint on this special wall.

Working together we create something wonderful 🩵

Here's a recap of the beautiful 2 weeks I spent in Lynn painting with @beyondwallslynn for the Classroom to the Street Program. I got to work with teachers and students from the Lynn public schools to create a mural about migration and immigration, and how each one strengthens the community around us.

All photos (except #4 & #8) credited to @aslyfilm . Thank you friend for capturing the process! And thank you to @golden305 and Octavio for making me a tent so I didn't die in the unrelenting city heat 🙏🏻 taken in Lynn, Massachusetts by @sophytuttle

🎨 @sophytuttle for @hagerfest
📍Hagerstown (sorry I’m on the road right now and don’t have access to my details.)

A beautiful and long mural, which is unfortunately in kind of a tight alley. Tough to view in its entirety and to photograph. But it sure is nice.

One of many wonderful murals in this cute town including a bunch of new ones like this one. taken in Hagerstown, Maryland by @sophytuttle
