Late this summer we were honored to once again work with @sophytuttle on a commissioned large scale mural on the @safeharborsofthehudson campus in Newburgh, NY.

Sophy drew inspiration from the native plant life and pollinator habitat found within Safe Harbors Green, the organization’s half-acre urban pollinator park and community gathering space. Through bold imagery and vivid colors, the artwork celebrates the beauty of Newburgh’s natural environment while reflecting themes of growth, resilience, and hope.

Sophy Tuttle and Ernesto Maranje painted as a duo during the Free City Mural Festival close to the Heart of Downtown! After speaking with the artists, we discovered the meaning behind this massive mural: Evolution.

Historically, scientists have logged that birds are living theropod dinosaurs and in this mural, you can see the skull of a bird facing that of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skull with a magnolia in the center, both known to be alive during the late Cretaceous period. Magnolias, one of the oldest living flowering plants, having a roughly 95 million year lineage, before bees, butterflies or modern flowers existed, and are pollinated by beetles.

This piece of artwork couldn’t have been completed without the paint provided by @sherwinwilliams, @nbqspray & @aerosollegends ~ Thank you!!

Welcome, Main Street Maryland Conference attendees! While you’re exploring downtown over the next few days, be sure to look up, look around and take in some of the incredible public art that has helped transform our city into a colorful, creative destination.

From towering murals and colorful alleyways to pieces celebrating Hagerstown’s history, culture and community, there’s plenty to discover—all within walking distance of the conference! Several of our newest murals were even created as part of the 2026 @national_mural_awards hosted right here in Hagerstown.

📍Use these photos as your mini public art guide and see how many you can find while you’re downtown!

Grab a coffee, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, explore our shops and take the scenic route between conference sessions. And when you find a favorite piece, snap a photo and tag us—we’d love to see #downtownhagerstown through your eyes!

Welcome to Hagerstown. We hope you leave inspired!❤️🎨

See @SophyTuttle painting her “Riparian Ribbon” #mural this week high up along the new gateway ribbon arches at Carl Barron Plaza in #Cambridge’s Central Square. The public art project—funded by the City of @CambridgeMass and overseen by #CambridgeArts—celebrates our wild neighbors along the #CharlesRiver.

And join us for the opening reception for the reimagined plaza this Friday, Oct. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. Free!

As a nature buff, zoology major, and scientific-illustrator wannabe (medical illustration paid more), I have always adored this artist’s nature-themed murals. Animals, birds, flowers, she does it all. As I’m looking at these masterfully painted hands, I keep thinking about her telling me that she was concerned about painting them because she hadn’t done that many human hands. I’d say that fear was unfounded. 👏

and thank you for leaving those hand-lettered family bowling lanes signs.

REPOST 🔀 @7news Thank you WHDH for the feature on Classroom to the Streets! We are so inspired by the artists and fellows who bring this program to life.

This year’s prompt “Where does our power lie in difficult times?” The work of this team and ALL of the fellows, artists, supporters and partners made 8 new incredibly special murals that radiate positive messages and resiliency within our youth community.

We are proud to play a part in this partnership alongside @lynnpublicschools & @stmaryslynn ❤️

Last week, the artists enjoyed a night at @simmer_rooftop - the spot that has some of the best views of downtown! If you haven’t been yet, definitely go enjoy a cocktail/mocktail after dinner at @sauceitalianflint at the @hiltongardeninnflintdowntown 🍝🍸
