Over the weekend I had the awesome opportunity to take a Glass Blowing class with Devan Cole of Hot Glass Academy at the Clemson Arts Center. What a fun couple of hours! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to try glass blowing and this guided class was amazing. Devan is a great teacher and craftsman. Even though my face does not show the joy I was feeling, it was a dream come true! There are still spots available in Clemson through Nov 2nd so check it out!! https://classbug.com/businesses/7476/offerings @hotglassacademy @clemson_arts #glassblowing #alwayslearning by @sorohanart

It was the most amazing night Thursday at the 2025 Kaleidoscope Immersive Art Experience Fundraiser by @premierartscollective. One of my pieces found a new home and I could not be happier that something I created spoke to someone else’s heart and they said “I have to have that!” Props to @towncarolina for the photo! Everything was stunning from the garden art experiences to the spoken word art by @itsmrdove and @sahnthepoet, the best finger painter @thejaredcollection and awesome music by @jamiemacdonaldmusic. So much to love, so many amazing people! Premier Arts Collective is an extraordinary organization that uses art as a vehicle of hope and healing. https://premierartscollective.com/kaleidoscope/ @lorilgugan @territeramano & Mike @mariahsloan @markpatrickstudios @willpaul_mcdonald @chelsea.fraser.writes https://towncarolina.com/photos-2025-kaleidoscope/ by @sorohanart

Come with me back to 2024 when I made one hundred ceramic dogwood flowers. I used 69 of them for my BFA exhibit in the shape of a tree branch reminiscent of the wallpaper in my childhood home. I made a few of them into pins that I and some of my friends wear, others adorn the homes of friends and family, some traded for fellow student’s work as keepsakes, some even left on gravestones. Each one individually formed, carefully dried, bisque-fired, hand painted, dipped in clear glaze, glaze-fired TWICE because the kiln elements failed the first time just days before the show; a couple wood fired, a couple more soda fired, a few pink, each one unique. A homage to my parents, who planted dogwood trees in our yard which subsequently became one of my mother’s favorite blossoms. #porcelaindogwoodblossoms #sorohanart #clemsonbfa2024 #clemsonceramics by @sorohanart

I loved it the minute it came out of the soda kiln, and even more with a light. 2024 #bfashow #porcelainsodafired #wheelthrownandaltered #ceramiclife #ceramicartist by @sorohanart
