A little more @gather_at_festival this autumn.

Join us at @horseandbamboo on Saturday 24 October for a free event bringing together festival photography, film and live music, as part of the Rossendale Art Trail.

Photography by @soule_creative, @derrenleepoole and @jamesferguson.photography will be on display throughout the trail. On Saturday 24 October, we’ll also have film highlights from the festival, filmed by @andrewobaje, with live hip hop from a very special guest.

Save the date. More details coming this week. taken in Rossendale Valley by @soule_creative

@blossomcaldarone live for @gather_at_festival at @horseandbamboo. A special set defined by sweet vocals, soulful storytelling, and the ultimate balance of confidence and vulnerability 👍✨📸

This is my 100th post so perhaps a good time to mention this:

gather@ at Rossendale Art Trail

gather@ presents a special photography exhibition documenting the first gather@ Festival, held across Rossendale in June 2026. Curated by Jamie Soule, the exhibition features photography by Jamie Soule, Derren Poole and James Ferguson, bringing together a selection of portraits and live images of artists who performed across the festival.

On Saturday 24 October, the theatre will also screen a short film by Andrew Obaje, filmed during gather@ and shown on a loop between live performances.

A firm favourite at the first gather@ Festival, @freequency3 (Olivia Lee) returns for two special 20-minute sets at 2pm and 3.30pm. A producer, songwriter and freestyle rapper, her music has received support from BBC 1Xtra. Olivia was also recently selected for Brighter Sound’s ELEVATE, a year-long artist development programme supporting Greater Manchester musicians at a pivotal stage in their careers, supported by Liam Gallagher.

Saturday 24 October | Horse + Bamboo | FREE

Arrive early to catch FREEQUENCY3, see the film and exhibition, and find out more about gather@ and our plans for 2027. taken in Horse + Bamboo by @soule_creative

I was commissioned by Pennine Spring Music Festival (a talented orchestra and choir) to photograph their live event recently.

I had the opportunity to experience the rehearsals and one of their live shows led by conductor @orrguy

I might be a classical convert now. Amazing! taken in Heptonstall by @soule_creative

@davezuton was Friday night’s headliner at @gather_at_festival by @later.at.

I’ll admit, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. We all know the songs as part of The Zutons, but how would they sound stripped back?

The answer… brilliant.

It was a reminder of just how well Dave’s songs are written. No full band sound, just Dave, his acoustic guitar and that unmistakable voice. - which still sounds as good as it’s ever been. 👍✨ taken in Horse + Bamboo by @soule_creative

Some musicians make everything look easy… @muireann_bradley is one of them.

She walked on stage in a packed @horseandbamboo theatre - part of this year’s @gather_at_festival - and quietly held everyone’s attention with just a guitar and a voice. A real pleasure to experience whilst shooting her performance.

You may remember her from @jools.holland.official Hootenanny a few years back and now, just like then, she got a standing ovation. ✨👏

One of my favourite photos - taken in July 2017 when @the_official_buzzcocks played in Uppermill. It was a small venue and the band were LOUD. It took my ears a fortnight to recover! What a show.

Here’s @stevediggleofficial throwing his Tele around the stage.

What a night at @horseandbamboo in Waterfoot as @later.at brought us ex-Inspiral Carpets singer @tomhingleyband , with support from local band Mora and the Fabulous Wonderfuls.

The 13-year-old me bought his very first record at @piccadillyrecords in Manchester - Inspiral Carpets’ She Comes in the Fall - so this gig was a proper trip down memory lane.

Mora and The Fabulous Wonderfuls filled the room with positivity, and afterwards their guitarist told me:
“Write the song, write the poem and share it with the world. The words that come from your heart might be the words that heal the world and unite us.”

Then Tom Hingley hit the stage and it wasn’t long until the whole room was dancing. The anthems of the 90s brought back so many memories, and the vibe was just brilliant.

Big thanks to Paula from @later.at for inviting me. Proper Valley magic. taken in Horse + Bamboo by @soule_creative

It’s always a pleasure to be at a @rufftradeuk show. The festival was @strummercamp and this was the after party. These folks are a serious collection of musicians and the reggae show also leans into swing, drum and bass and some bonus covers - requests from the audience. Follow them 🇯🇲✨ by @soule_creative
