A few lovely moments from a trip down to @sandyhillarts in Dorset in April. The sun came out and it was such a lovely day to have a play 🌞✨

Our Dorset debut! ❤️

It’s spring, the sun is shining and we’re so excited to perform at Sandy Hill Arts centre.

We are bringing our unique blend of contemporary dance and jazz from the thriving London jazz scene to Corfe Castle. Expect beautifully soft melodies, offering an engaging experience for a wide range of audiences.

Saturday 25th April. 7pm. Last few tix remaining so book ahead! These can be found in the link in our bio or on the Sandy hill arts website.

It’s going to be a beautiful performance. We so can’t wait ✨

Looking for musicians to join us in Dorset 🎶

We’re running a Sound of Movement workshop at Sandy Hill Arts (near Corfe Castle), exploring improvisation, composition, playing in a band, and creating music alongside contemporary dancers.

Open to all instruments, but especially keen to hear from guitarists, bassists and pianists.

We also have a few bursary places available for under 25s.

A great opportunity to develop your playing, collaborate, and try something a bit different.

Drop us a message or check the link in bio to find out more.

23 APRIL | CANDID EC1V 1NQ

@soundofmovement_

Sound of Movement are a unique and engaging collective of musicians and dancers who push the boundaries of contemporary jazz, classical, afrobeat and dance. Their unique performances and recorded music specialises in the formation of contemporary jazz and dance, presenting a thought-provoking journey through improvisation and melodicism.
Composer, instrumentalist and bandleader Joel Rocca set out to explore the possibilities of creating and performing music guided by movement in a collaborative environment; pushing the boundaries of the norms within contemporary jazz.
Breaking away from conventional approaches to improvisation and composition in jazz, Joel set out to challenge, redefine and recreate a setting in which the music and performance involves both the musicians and dancers contributing to the improvised music and movement that you see in their live shows.
