@soundofmovement_

Sound of Movement are a unique and engaging collective of musicians and dancers who push the boundaries of contemporary jazz, classical, afrobeat and dance. Their unique performances and recorded music specialises in the formation of contemporary jazz and dance, presenting a thought-provoking journey through improvisation and melodicism.
Composer, instrumentalist and bandleader Joel Rocca set out to explore the possibilities of creating and performing music guided by movement in a collaborative environment; pushing the boundaries of the norms within contemporary jazz.
Breaking away from conventional approaches to improvisation and composition in jazz, Joel set out to challenge, redefine and recreate a setting in which the music and performance involves both the musicians and dancers contributing to the improvised music and movement that you see in their live shows.

@soundofmovement_ is the beautiful project from @joelroccasax, in collaboration with an array of talented jazz musicians and dancers.

This new release and their live performances focus on the interaction between music and dance, semi-improvised with the performers influencing how each other moves or plays.

It's a wonderful listen and their shows are always unique, check out the new album and give em a follow to hear about upcoming shows @soundofmovement_ 🎷💃

Massive congrats and top work to all of the talented people involved in bringing the project to life. Amazing to see how it's developed over the last few years 👏💙
