She lit up the stage at past MAJIRAS and left no soul unmoved. Now, after two long years, our beloved @zola.bends returns—back, bolder, and ready to raise the roof once again.

Born in Vienna with proud Congolese roots, Zola brings a rich cultural fusion to every set she spins. Her sound is a vibrant blend of Afrobeats, Afropop, and a kaleidoscope of genres—each track a celebration of heritage and rhythm.

From her early days with @soundsofblacknessvienna to sharing the stage with @saluteaut at Vienna’s iconic techno temple Grelle Forelle, and making waves at Austria’s biggest rock festival @novarock, Zola has carved out her name across genres and borders.

Our First guest this Season.

Music’s been in Mirabhai’s DNA from day one, but in March 2022, she made it official and stepped behind the decks. Since then, she’s been lighting up dance floors between Nuremberg and Vienna with a genre-bending blend of hip hop, RnB, funk, disco, and electronic vibes. No rules, just pure groove. Her sets are all about energy—bass-heavy, bouncy, and built to make you move. Expect a wild ride through sound that doesn’t stick to one lane—just whatever hits

10 Years of Sounds of Blackness

In August 2015, we threw our first party at Heuer am Karlsplatz. We didn’t know exactly what it would become, but we knew it was needed.
Big love and thanks to Javier ( @javier_heartinez )for opening the door and making that first night possible.

10 years later, Sounds of Blackness has grown into something truly special—a space to celebrate Black music in all its forms, and the culture that shapes it.

It’s been more than just parties. It’s been connection, community, creativity. From the club nights to the cultural events, we’ve been lucky to be surrounded by people who believe in this just as much as we do.

We want to give love to everyone who’s been part of this journey—from day one till now. And we hold close the ones who helped shape it: Mahir Jamal (Rest in Power), and Tonica Hunter, who helped lay the foundations and brought so much to this collective.

This anniversary is for all of you—for every dancer, DJ, artist, organizer, and supporter who’s made this what it is.

We’re proud of where we’ve been. And even more excited for what’s next.

We kick off our 10-year celebration on Saturday, April 26th at Volksgarten Pavilion—and from May through August, we’ll be there every third Saturday of the month. Pull up.

Here’s to 10 years of Black joy, love, and music in Vienna.

AMOAKO X BELVEDERE.

One of our guest for the @amoakoboafo Exhibition after party is already a household name in Vienna and a family member.

ABIBA @abiba.afani started DJing thanks to her mentorship under Femme Bass Mafia. Shifting from dancing in crowds to
making crowds dance, ABIBA now has the platform to share her music in different formats, whether she's
playing twerkable bangers in her club sets or smooth alternative RnB & Neo Soul mixes as a Refuge
Worldwide resident.
ABIBA's sets range from Electronic Afrobeats, Afrohouse and Baile Funk to Jersey Club, Drill, Trap and
more. She's earning new listeners at a rapid pace after showcasing her eclectic sound at HÖR, club gigs at
OHM and OXI, as well as performances at Splash! and Fusion Festival.

The Amoako Boafo exhibition after party hosted by Sounds Of Blackness & Belvedere Museum will take place on the 24.10 10pm at PRST Club.
