The last introduction to our event is Raj.
We meet at one of our events a year back and since have been crossing paths at numerous occasions.

An integral member of @soundsofblacknessvienna, a crew that brings the illest people together that know how to break it down to Hip Hop and House.

Specifically a safe space run by POCs for POCs with open doors for everyone of all shapes and sizes, and shades of colours.

If any collective wants to learn a thing or two about diversity with love, that's the space to be at.

Thank you Raj for joining us with Lim Banda @funkhaus_official 26.09.

This time we got a real special gathering coming up.

Why you ask?
a. Our little Sundaze Summer edition @porto.pollo.vie is coming to an end.
b. We invited local artists that have each made massive contributions to Vienna's soundscape and who have never played at our events.

This coming Sunday, 13.09., we will be welcoming the crew of @soundsofblacknessvienna and a closing set hosted by @soularium.club

So stick around the upcoming days where we will be introducing @ayotheartist @thiagoblackrosa @raj_after_hours from Sounds of Blackness and @clark20th from Soularium who will be joined by @ichbink8 and lastly our own residents @limbogram
and @clemens.cz aka Ernst.

Expect live sets, sick b2b, and one last gathering at Porto Pollo with LuvAffair.

Disclaimer: Pay as you wish does not mean 0€. Please respect our communities and the efforts we all put into these gatherings. We will reserve the right to refuse entry at the door.
Respect everyone and please refrain of taking photos and videos of our dancing guests. Please respect no cameras on the dancefloor. Take videos of the performing artists if need be and please protect everyone's privacy.

On Sun 7th June 2020 a protest took place in Bristol in reaction to the brutal murder of George Floyd on 25th May 2020 and all the other victims of police brutality across the world. At the time no one knew just how important this day was to become. 1 year later I had the privilege of sharing the reflections of many inspirational voices from the Bristol Community.
25th May is Afrikan Liberation Day..

6 years later; has the narrative changed, were the school curriculum's changed, did the debates & conversations continue? Did the white allies continue their support & utilise white privilege? So many questions remaining unanswered. A recent article by an Ujima reporter, @isabelparryy revealed that the school curriculum only changed in Wales. Full article to follow.

Say His Name...George Floyd...25th May 2020

1 year after the brutal murder of George Floyd, The Word with Miranda on @ujimaradio_official produced and presented a tribute to George Floyd and shared the reflections of many inspirational voices from the Bristol Community including one of the young organisers Liza Bilal and ends with the moving poem entitled 'George Floyd - The Catalyst for Change' by Antonette Clarke and archive material from the iconic Bristol Activist Sir Paul Stephenson OBE.

Plus amazing speeches from the protest when the statue of slave trafficker Edward Colston was torn down and thrown into the river. We hear from the incredibly talented recording artist Delocx, former poet laureate Miles Chambers and the then 9 year old Tianna plus many others.

With thanks to Dawn Limbu and Angel Mel for their help collating the speeches from the Protest that took place on 7th June 2020.

back in the city with a ton of new records and a ton of inspiration for next sunday’s journey. that nameless party that we throw at our friend’s place is back february 22nd and it can’t come soon enough 🥲❣️

these jams have created such special, intimate dancefloor moments and for the next edition we’ll be at the helm all night long! we’ve since upgraded the sound, and added subs in the room. the test run blew us away and we’re expecting the same reaction when ya’ll hear it next week…nothing beats that warm analog sound 🔊😏

it’ll be the same place, at the same time (5-11PM), with a lovely prepared dinner for everyone & music to carry yall through the night 🌚🎶🍴

hit the link in the bio to make a contribution to the party (which helps us keep the lights on) and reserve your spot! in the meantime, swipe for some tunes that we’ll be bringing to the party next sunday! see y’all next week 😘

Today 4-6PM on The Word with Miranda we step back to the years of 2020 & 2021. and hear the episode of The Word called "Say His Name..."

Was it a moment or a movement....

We start back in 2020 and hear this powerful interview with the inspirational Lawrence Hoo.

One year after the brutal murder of George Floyd, The Word produced and presented a tribute to George Floyd and I was honoured to be able to share the reflections of many inspirational voices from the Bristol Community and including the poem by Antonette Eulinda Clarke entitled 'George Floyd - The Catalyst for Change'. It also features archive material from the iconic Bristol Activist Sir Paul Stephenson OBE.

Thank you to all the contributors including Gary Hines from the Sounds of Blackness, Lynn Mareno, Desmond Brown, Marvin Rees, Angel Mel, Jendayi Serwah, Corrd the Seeker, and Faada Sojie. We hear from the incredibly talented recording artist Delocx, former poet laureate Mile Chambers and the then 9 year old Tianna.

“Africans, you have the permission to celebrate your roots and your heritage again.

Go on and heal your bodies with your traditional herbs. And teach your children the secrets of your ancestors.

Your ancestors lived well — with little to nothing. They were self-sufficient. Yet, they were the happiest.

Embrace the secrets of your traditions again. You’re safe and free.” - Mitta Xinindlu
