We had a great time touring Dayspring Dairy In Gallant this afternoon with the Etowah County Young Farmers! We are so thankful that Greg, Ana, Sofia, and Will were willing to have us, show us around, and allow us to taste test so many of their amazing products. It was extra special getting to see a former Southside FFA member (Will Runyan) in his element! Dayspring Dairy is the first and only sheep dairy in the state of Alabama. We were so impressed by their facilities, the way they care for their flock, and the amazing quality of their products. We couldn’t leave empty-handed; their cheeses, caramels, and jams were just too good to pass up!

Congratulations to our chapter’s VP and Reporter for being selected to attend the 61st Annual @alfafarmers Youth Leadership Conference at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana next month! While there, Ella and MeiLeigh will advocate for agriculture, identify their potential to better serve their community, and step further into their leadership roles. They will also attend high-energy workshops, participate in outdoor activities and games, hear from motivational speakers, and work on relationship-building. Another year, another adopted calf through @discover_dairy! This year our calf is named J O Y, and lives at Circle J Dairy in Gordo, AL. She is a Jersey calf who weighed 40 lbs at birth and was 24” tall. We will continue to receive more updates and photos throughout the year! 🐄🥛 taken in Circle J Dairy, LLC by @southside_highffa

We had a blast at the @al_ffa @shpbeds bed build today! About 110 FFA members from across the state came together today to build 60 beds for children in need within our community. What a blessing to be a part of something so big. No kid sleeps on the floor in our town! 🛏️🩵 taken in Church of the Highlands by @southside_highffa

October events are coming in hot!

Bed Build participants received a waiver from Dr. Heald by email but should also grab and return a permission slip ASAP!

HOCO Parade float signups begin today. Sign up on Dr. Heald’s door and pick up a permission slip ASAP.

We will be meeting at Rainbow Landing in RBC to pick up litter on 10/6/26 from 3:30-4:30. All PPE will be provided. Our goal is always to leave it better than we found it! by @southside_highffa
