We're on a mission to make South Yorkshire the best place in the country for children to walk, wheel and cycle. 🚶‍♀️🛴🚲
This #CycleToSchoolWeek, we're celebrating the amazing work happening in schools across our region to help more children travel actively.
Working alongside our local authorities, schools and partners, we're putting children at the heart of our plans, creating safer and more attractive routes to school, installing scooter and cycle shelters, supporting cycle training, and making it easier for families to choose walking, wheeling and cycling for everyday journeys.

We're pleased to have launched the South Yorkshire Strategy today.

South Yorkshire's Mayor, Oliver Coppard, was joined in Barnsley by Katharine Hammond, Chief Executive at SYMCA, and local business, health, and community leaders Louisa Harrison-Walker, Chris Edwards, and Shahida Siddique to discuss the importance and significance of the strategy.

Developed in collaboration with over 100 partners, the strategy sets out three key ambitions to help us ensure every person and every business can access opportunity and thrive right here in South Yorkshire.
