Carnyx at Wisseloord Studios

Without a doubt this will have been the first ever recording of a Carnyx at the legendary Wisseloord Studios in the Netherlands!

I had the honour of teaming up with the Wisseloord audio engineers to record my beloved instrument in Studio 1. It was an incredible experience to let the Carnyx speak into this huge room, allowing its voice to fill a space where so much legendary music has been recorded in the past.

The Carnyx and I couldn’t resist taking this opportunity to explore some very weird sounds.

It sounded amazing, so I’m very much looking forward to sharing the result with all of you!

More Carnyx coming your way!

It's been 10 years since our very first music video ''DAGERAAD'' was released!

Dageraad is a song about that liminal space between night and day. When darkness slowly ebbs away but before sunrise.

Celebrating 10 years of Sowulo.

I write this text with a smile and a lot of warmth flowing through my heart, but also with some tears rolling down my cheeks.

I have decided that it is time for me to step away from this beautiful project and see where life will take me and my harp. I have been sitting with this feeling for a while now, and with some big changes happening in my life at the moment, this feels like the right thing to do for myself.

I can still remember very vividly when Faber asked me to join this project. It was during Yuletime on a farm in the Netherlands, surrounded by loved ones and a crackling fire, and look where we are now!

In these 10 years, I have learned a lot about myself, realised how much I love to play, and built a very strong connection with my harp. I met so many beautiful people along the way. I lost some too, but that is part of the ride. I will forever cherish every moment we have shared together as a band and as the group of friends we became.

I know I will really miss this.

Thank you to everyone who came to our shows, and for all the kind words I received afterwards or online. Really, thank you so much.

My last show will be on the 23rd of January '27 in Tivoli, NL.

I wish Sowulo all the best and will keep a close eye on them, with a lot of love and support.
See you on the road that is called life. ❤️

All the love,
Chloé

· Keeping the cræft alive! ·

Our amazing photographer @alwinvanwijngaarden has been developing some beautiful, analog photos he took from our show at @castlefest 2025.

It is great to witness people that are good at their craft. Whether that's photography, music, painting, illustrating or something completely different.

Through their work, you're able to see/feel the years of them pushing themselves to the limit, and the immense passion that went into mastering their craft.

Some things are not meant to be made by machines.
Let's keep the crafts alive.

· Blessed MABON! ·
Grateful for all the harvest,
It is time to seek shelter
From the wind,
Raind and thunder
That are scourging our landscapes.

And blessed Ostara to all the people in the southern hemisphere!

The wheel is turning..
the busy summer period has come to an end and has made way for autumn. The season where harvesting and reflection take center stage. We gather our strengths for winter and enjoy the fruits of our labor.

The viking orchestra will be going into hibernation until January 23rd, when we will be returning to @tivolivredenburg.
Until then we're getting cozy in the studio to start the writing proces of our new album.

We are already looking forward to January 23rd, when we'll return to Utrecht (NL) for an exclusive headline show at @tivolivredenburg.
There's something magical about coming together in the middle of winter, when it's dark and cold outside, to dance and celebrate our great pagan legacy!

Info & tickets can be found through the link in our bio.
