That's it. Nothing else

Is it just me or does it feel like trying to book an appointment takes way too much effort? I feel like somewhere in the last few years the beauty industry decided making policies, procedures and cancellation policies their entire personality. And I'm over it. So I removed the friction from my booking process, opened my DMs and made myself fully available to my current and future guests.

Is it worth it?

Short answer is yes! Absolutely I think adding a filter system to your shower will make a difference with preventing mineral build up on porous, lightened hair. For the one I use, check out my Amazon store in my linktree. Keep your shower head, this one goes behind it.

So if you're blonde, lightened, or just wanna take better care of your hair, think about adding a water filter system to your washing routine. Minerals can cause yellowing, a crusty dry feeling and even harsh chemical reactions in the salon chair with coloring products. Add a clarifying shampoo and chelator to your routine as well!

Low and Slow > Fast and Furious

Color specialists, are you going low and slow with your lightener developer? You should be. Here I lightened two samples using the same lightener, hair, and mixing ratio. I then lightened both to the same level, with the 40vol finishing in about 30 min and the 20vol requiring the full 50 of processing time. But low and behold, even though both were lifted to the same level, the 20 vol sample showed less roughness in the cuticle and in polarized light more internal structural integrity.

Remember, 20 and lower. Reach for 30 and 40 when you need to boost something very quickly then rinse it off. Don't over lift. 1 level above your target and you'll get beautiful results every time.

Golden Highlights FTW

Gold is not brass. Gold is beautiful. Warming up your highlights is a great way to brighten things up without over lifting and frying your hair. Here I used @alfaparfmilanopro_usa 010.32 Color Wear Gloss toners to add a touch of gold to brighten everything up. And for once, actually nailed the cover photo! Lol.

Vivid/Correction

Box color, lightener, box color again, semi permanent color, layers and layers of colors and chemicals, this was quite the daunting correction. But I made things as simple as easy as possible by going outside the box with how I attacked it.

First of all, @goddess.pro Protection from the start. Then, I used high lift color to lighten her root grow out instead of lightener. We didn't need to be ultra light. Just light enough to hold the red nice and bright. And the high lift worked absolutely perfect. While that was processing, 10vol and gentle lightener to try to pull off as much of that box black and previous color as safely as possible. One session was all we were gonna get and I wanted her walking out with all the hair she came in with so nice and slow, as light as it could get in one shot was gonna be it for us.

Then, dried everything and assessed the canvas. Most of the box color came out but we had a little banding and darkness through the ends so I decided to use it to my advantage and make a look out if it. @chromadaddy ultra pigmented color did the rest! Raccoon tail style stripe in the front to make the band look intentional. Black Fox tail style ends to make it into a cohesive and intentional look.

Moral of the story? Sometimes we have to work with the canvas we have, think on our feet and come up with something unique on the spot based on where the hair takes us. And this all came together beautifully in the end.

Simple and Beautiful

Here's how awesome @alfaparfmilanopro_usa Evolution of the Color Permanent is. The entire red range is amazing, especially the 6.66i but here we were going for more a cool wine red. Thankfully Evo's got it handled.

Formula in the video. Btw, that's how different it looked from behind vs sitting in the chair. Lighting changes how it appears in a huge way. Pay attention!
