After a long discussion with myself and some friends about money and how I price my workshops I have found what really aligns with me for the moment.

The idealist in me had to take step back to leave space for something else which I don’t have a persona for yet.

As we reflect back on our 45 days of clown touring, we realize what a journey it has been, full of learnings and unlearnings, open hearts, the ups and the downs, the valleys and the mountains, the rivers and the oceans, the successes and the failures!

We are so humbled and in awe to have had @lil0.mp4 capture the magic and essence of what happens in these workshops with such care and tenderness.

Clown is all of this. It’s everything you see in this video.

KILL THEM ALL WITH LAUGHTER WITH @sabouny_ the founder of @clownmein. A Clown and Bouffon workshop designed specially to become creative with protesting 🙈🙈

We had an amazing time filled with laughter, anger and daring! Making fun of what makes us angry in the world and leaders, voicing what we care about.

Nada Elissa

Nada Elissa is an artist, educator, clown teacher, and agroecology consultant. Since 2014, she has been working with children, teenagers, and young adults through alternative education, creating learning experiences that explore the body, emotions, biodiversity, arts, and culture.

Her work brings together diverse approaches, including playfight, dance and physical movement, clowning, and environmental journeys, to cultivate self-awareness, creativity, and connection with the living world.

Mistakes & Failure Through Clowning
A Workshop for Teeeeen Gurlz!

Ever felt embarrassed because you said something silly, got something wrong, or made a fool of yourself? What if, instead of hiding it, you could play with it?

Through clowning games, improvisation, movement, and playful challenges, we’ll experiment with making mistakes on purpose, trying things we don’t know how to do, and finding ways to keep going when things go wrong.

We’ll play with awkward moments, unexpected surprises, and the fear of looking silly, discovering how a mistake can become the beginning of something funny, creative, or completely unplanned.

ندى إليسا فنانة، ومُيسّرة تعليمية، ومعلّمة لفن المهرّج، ومستشارة في مجال الزراعة الإيكولوجية. منذ عام ٢٠١٤، وهي تعمل مع الأطفال والمراهقين والشباب من خلال أساليب التعليم البديل، وتبتكر معهم تجارب تعلّم تستكشف الجسد والمشاعر، والتنوّع البيولوجي، والفنون والثقافة.

تجمع ندى في عملها بين أساليب مختلفة، منها اللعب القتالي، والرقص والحركة، وفن المهرّج، والرحلات الاستكشافية في الطبيعة، لفتح مساحات للوعي بالذات، والإبداع، والتواصل مع العالم الحي من حولنا.

هل شعرتِ يومًا بالإحراج لأنكِ قلتِ شيئًا سخيفًا، أو أخطأتِ في شيء، أو وجدتِ نفسكِ في موقف محرج أمام الآخرين؟ ماذا لو كان بإمكانكِ، بدلًا من محاولة إخفاء الموقف أو تجنّبه، أن تلعبي معه؟

من خلال ألعاب المهرّج، والارتجال، والحركة، والتحديات المرحة، سنجرّب ارتكاب الأخطاء عن قصد، وخوض تجارب لا نعرف كيف نقوم بها، واكتشاف طرق للاستمرار حتى عندما لا تسير الأمور كما توقّعنا.

Community for me is a very big word that is often used too much without really understanding what this word can hold.

What is growing through Spaces with Nada is emerging from the humans showing up, not by me. There are many topics we don’t really address transparently when talking about “community”, one of them is money. Especially if and when we use this word in a business context. Can community and capitalism co-exist?

Sometimes, community doesn’t exist until someone decides to create it.

In this clip, Nada Elissa shares what it was like to begin building a clown community in Cairo, Egypt - a place where there were very few clowns. Through following inspiration and having a dream (and many more things!!) today, that community has grown to more than 150 clowns!

I look at these photos and feel nothing but immense gratitude that we get this privilege to play.

This energy started about 4 years ago, when I first met Ezequiel aka Zizo (@eolazar_ ) and Buket and I decided to organize a clown tour just to get him to Cairo and Istanbul. Little did I know the magic that would come out of that first workshop back in 2024.

You beautiful being, @eolazar_ none of this would be possible without you and your mad teachings and love for humans. I love you from the depth of my soul.

Two years later, and we have this wonderful, crazy, stupid bunch of people coming together every month to play and practice.

We are so lucky to smile, to laugh, to live this life, and to laugh at it too.
In a world that is literally burning and collapsing, we chose to stay soft, hopeful, and angry. The good kind of angry!

This group truly knows the meaning of Care. It’s one of the best things that has happened for me.

I love each one of them more than I can say.
