I didn’t hit all my reading goals this month, but I’m making progress! I really need to pick up the pace because my stack for next month looks amazing—maybe I’m a planner after all.

Under the Dome by Stephen King.

I definitely preferred the book over the show. The series was enjoyable right up until it went off the rails. The book really grabbed me, especially with how much it mirrors today's world—it’s the kind of reality you hope to avoid, yet somehow feels all too familiar.

I’d love to spend just one day inside Stephen King’s mind.

Books I'm planning to read this month!

I really need to set a goal to read more Stephen King—I say it all the time, so it's time to actually follow through!

I also placed a hold at my library for the TV series adaptation of Under the Dome. Has anyone watched it? If so, did you enjoy it?

Book Review ✨

Alright so ... Not my favorite Stephen King but it had me. When I say it had me, it had me at I definitely do not want to get bitten by anything.

What was also not working for me is I have seen parts of the movie and it kept jumping into my head while I read this one.

Also it made me think of Dwight from the Office. If you know you know.

Am I still glad I read it. Yes. Because this Stephen King journey has been taking its time with me!

Q: what is your favorite Stephen King book? Or if he is not your thing which is scarier a tiger or a cub? Again if you know you know!

Been a minute ... I've read several books this month but I just haven't posted them. Let's start with these two amazing books!

The Bones Beneath My Skin by TJ Klune 🛸
I could not put this one down. Read it in one weekend. The story, the characters that TJ Klune writes is so GOOD! I don't know why I always forget this but I need to remind myself of this or my friend who also loves him as well needs to remind me! You just fall in love with all three characters. I want them to have it all!!

The Whisper Man by Alex North 🫆
Another great read! I cannot wait until the Netflix movie comes out, even if there is a twist not from the book. As I have heard. This book had me thinking of all kinds of cases I have listened to on Morbid that are located in England. I might have guessed the who but I was not ready for the twist at the end. That got me. If you know you know.

Stay tuned for more books ✨

Q: have you read either of these books?

Library Fun ✨

Yes, I am rewatching all of the Paranormal Activity movies. This is a fun journey for me. Love that the library has movies you can rent. Reminds me of Blockbuster.

Also found this amazing comic 💥
It's as amazing as the book, waiting for vol 2 👾

Q: do you like a slow burn horror movie or a jump scare one?

My first achievement ✨

Truth be told I was on the fence when I first recommended this book. I am glad I went with my gut. Because this is amazing. I am getting on the train, going down the rabbit hole ... With this series. You are never too late to the party 💥

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman

This is a video game, D&D campaign that I just want to play but Carl is having to play it himself. As the earth is no more. You must fight to stay alive on each floor. If only Carl has pants. And his partner in this Princess Donut 👑

If you want your next achievement jump into this one!

Q: if you have read the series, your favorite character? If not, do you dress your pets up?

It's like he knows the answers to everything.

If only he knew why all the books I have read this summer have all been not my vibes. Only one book so far, ONE!

It could be I am letting others influence me and I just need to go with my gut! All these big bookstagramers influence me for what? I sometimes wonder why they are posting certain books, that turn out to be ... Boring. I say what I say!

Current Reads: 📚

Right now, Broken Dove and The Dog Stars, plus The Good Girl on Hoopla.

Can you believe it's already July? Work is starting back up soon, and I still have a massive stack of summer reads to get through. It’s been a slow reading summer for me, but once the school year kicks off, I’ll be right back to audiobooks!

Q: Any great audiobook recommendations?
