📆February Kingdom Buddy Read📆 Shout out to those pictured & everyone else who joined me to read Fairy Tale last month! I had a blast not only reading a genre I typically wouldn’t chose but also a chunky book at 600 pages! The group majority rating for this one was 4⭐️! I’ll take that any day! 💭 Did you have any 5⭐️ this month? 🏷️ #kingdombuddyreads #stephenking #fantasybooks #buddyread #bookstagram

📚Monthly King Buddy Read📚 👑February:Fairy Tale 4.5⭐️ 💭: “A brave man helps…” Charlie grew up having a great deal of empathy after he lost his mother at only 7 years old & took care of his grieving father who turned to alcohol to cope. So it’s no shock to anyone when he rescues the lonely old man in town when he takes a fall in his yard. If it wasn’t for his dog Radar’s whimpering, Charlie may not have noticed Howard at all. “Fright & loss leave a residue…” Howard & Radar lived at what became known as the “Psycho House” due to its creepy appearance. The barley standing fence was crooked, sagging & centered by a rusty gate while the house had a half-slumped & leaky roof, overgrown grass & a porch that looked like it was slowly detaching itself. “Good people shine brighter in dark times.” When Howard gets admitted to the hospital for far more than a busted leg, Charlie offers to take care of the home & his furry companion. What he doesn’t realize is that the three of them are about to become as close as can be. For Howard has no one else & Charlie becomes much more meaningful than just a shoulder to lean on. “I’m your recovery plan…” As Howard gets older, weaker & starts to deteriorate, he lets Charlie in on his most valuable but dangerous secret. There’s a whole another world behind that old tool shed in the backyard & he’s about to put all of that compassion to good use. The people there are very different, in fact the exact opposite of a typical fairytale land. “I had miles to go & promise to keep.” With characters you won’t soon forget, this story will have the reader feeling a wide range of emotions from start to finish. I thought the old grumpasaurus was my favorite until I met those that needed saving. Unless your King himself, you couldn’t possibly predict all the places this book will take you. “It rains here…but it almost never shines.” “I was seventeen years old and this was the most exciting thing that ever happened to me. By far. And I wanted to chase it.” “Now put an egg in your shoe & beat it!”🤣🤪 💭 How many Stephen King books have you read? 🏷️ #buddyread #buddyreads #stephenking #kingdombuddyreads #fantasybooks

If so, which book has been your fave so far? If no, would you if it was a buddy read with friends? 🏷️ #fantasybooks #fantasyreads #buddyread #bookclub #stephenking
