Dearest Kaia,
Watching you play has brought me more joy than you’ll ever know. From backyard games and pick-up games to training and competing on the field, you’ve always shown up with determination, heart, and a work ethic that comes from within.

Soccer has taught you so much- how to work hard, persevere, be a teammate, handle disappointment, celebrate others, and most importantly, find joy in the game. Those are lessons you’ll carry long after your last whistle.

On your Senior Day, I hope you know how incredibly proud I am - not just of the soccer player you’ve become, but of the woman you are becoming.

Watching you play on the same college field where I once played, wearing the same number I wore, is something I never could have imagined. But that number is yours now. That field is yours. These memories are yours. ❤️

Soak it all in. Laugh, compete, celebrate, and most of all, have fun. Play with the same joy, determination, and heart that brought you here.

As Mia Hamm said, “Play for her.” Play for the little girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back.

I’ll always be your biggest fan - on the sidelines, in the stands, and in everything beyond the game.

I love you more than you know, Kaia. I couldn’t be more proud to call you my daughter.

As my oldest two head off this week for their senior year and freshman year of college, I’m learning that letting go is part of loving them—and trusting they’ll always find their way home. I call this part of parenting a success. by @spags15

There's one thing I've learned, both through the privilege of sitting with people in their deepest pain as a therapist and through walking my own path of healing is that pain doesn't get to decide how your story ends. What broke you is a part of your story, but it was never meant to become your identity. Healing doesn't happen because time passes. It happens because somewhere along the way, you make the courageous decision to stop waiting for someone else to repair what they broke. The work of reclaiming and rebuilding belongs to one person- you. It is where freedom is found. To ask a soul to heal while it is still grieving, to forgive what feels unforgivable, to release what it desperately wants to hold onto is hard work. Healing is not forgetting. It's choosing yourself over the pain. Rise anyway. Your story deserves a stronger ending. by @spags15
