We thought it was probably time we properly introduced ourselves.

We’re Emma & Callie, cofounders of Spared.

We’ve worked together for nearly 20 years, across interiors, design and hospitality, on projects of all shapes and sizes.

Spared grew from that experience, but also from an understanding of the urgency for change. A belief that we need to look at waste through a different lens, recognise its true value and think more intelligently about how materials can be reused.

That thinking sits at the heart of what we do today. Working with businesses to take waste from their own operations, buildings and projects and explore what it can become through design.

This week we’re at @materialmatters.design for @l_D_F_official, so it felt like a good time to finally put some faces to the names.

FROM RUBBLE TO RECEPTION DESK

For The Harrison, a project for @avivainvestors , we worked with materials recovered from the building, including original Brighton brick dating back to 1881.

Working with @anomaly.london and @redconstructiongroup we transformed these materials into a bespoke reception desk, giving the building’s own waste a second life within its new interior.

An absolute epic collaboration! The new Corner cafe @tatecornerbar designed by the incredible @hollandharvey.

We made table tops and cake stands from @tate ‘s coffee waste. Worked closely with the Holland and Harvey team to develop bespoke colours and with @goldfinger.design who crafted the table bases. 💚

We’re still pinching ourselves to have been apart of this project!

Alongside our bespoke commissions, the last few months have been even busier then usual as we've also been eagerly preparing for @clerkenwelldesignweek

Today is setup day, and tomorrow we'll be unveiling 3 new waste-led furniture prototypes and celebrating 3 of our favourite projects to date.

MEET THE FLOCK

Until now, everything we’ve created has been bespoke and made to commission. Second Song is our first collection, designed by us and available to buy.
