Some of the most interesting design right now is coming from people working with less. Offcuts, coffee grounds, a single anodising tank, a one-person workshop.

These are nine UK-based names we’re watching, from a Brighton studio turning waste into tabletops to a Devon workshop making bone china lighting. Different materials, different scales, but all of them are making work you can’t mistake for anyone else’s.

If you work in design, these are studios and makers worth following. Swipe through, save it, and tell us who we’ve missed.

Which one would you most like to work with?

From Shoreditch to Chelsea, we certainly got our steps in last week, as we took inspiration from this year’s London Design Festival.

We are always looking for a new material, detail or point of view, so this was the perfect exploration into what’s coming next in design. There’s nothing quite like getting out there and seeing things up close, discovering the unexpected details, having a wander around, and seeing what sticks with you.

Particular highlights included work by @jesse__butterfield lighting design from @studioclaudchristian and a new flock created from waste by the team @spared.eco

Plenty to take away, plenty to think about, and thankfully, a few days for the legs to recover!

A look at the vintage finds, and materials shaping our visual lens here at Atelier Collections at this very moment. From late 20th-century Steelcase cantilever chairs found on Facebook Marketplace awaiting to be restored to the oriental vase lamp ready for purchasing, every piece tells a story of sourcing with intention.

Clerkenwell Design Week 2026.

A day at Clerkenwell and we’re already looking forward to next year.

Highlights include innovative product launches, creative showroom installations and inspiring talks, with a strong focus on sustainability and craftsmanship. Set across beautiful, characterful spaces, there was constant inspiration and a brilliant buzz throughout.

We also squeezed in a terrarium workshop and some puppy cuddles for the final dopamine hit before heading home.

See you next year, @clerkenwelldesignweek

An afternoon at @clerkenwelldesignweek spent in good company.

With our team spread across talks, exhibitions and installations throughout the festival, it’s always valuable to step outside the studio and spend time with collaborators in the industry.

A particular highlight was @phinharper Interdependence Day talk, hosted by @solusceramics, exploring how design can support forms of togetherness and shared public life. We were also delighted to spot a cameo of our very own @tatecornerbar project with @spared.eco in St James’ Church!

Thanks to @madeinondarreta @solusceramics @egecarpets for having us - until next year!
