Once upon a time, infants born with disabilities are discarded and not given the chance to live.
People die and blamed evil spirits for the omen they suffer with.

The future of a golden balangay seemed bleak.

Oblivious that the disease was born out of their own doing- mercury poisoning.

"In the long view, no nation is any healthier than its children or more prosperous than its farmers."
Harry Truman

Even if I've done a lot of research (on history) before I write, I still miss out on some facts that may actually be important for my story.

Gladly, Incognito, an alternate history, has more room for creative liberties (the other, Bulawan, is more strict on abiding by history) .

Still, serendipity meets me often, reminding me that I am not the Head Writer, I am but a pen.
For example, I wrote about Jose (whose charcter is quite referenced from JRizal + another Jose I have yet to disclose) as a chess & chaturanga player and playing these games helps him process and make sense of his cluttered thoughts .
I did not know then, until I saw Mighty Magulang's post a few weeks back, that Jose Rizal was quite the chess aficionado indeed, travelling to Europe with his own carved chess board. Genius.

Musing as I remember this timely shot at a beautiful Coffee Restaurant in the Christmas town of Rothenberg, Germany, 2024. by @spatialchild

Pilot sent me Pilot Shaker and Pilot Eno lead for my drawing fix which I immediately used for my on the spot commissions.
Super salamat and I am surprised by how unbreakable and smooth the lead is. With less pressure, the lead writes easily on paper.
I am a long time user of the .7 Pilot Eno colored leads for my rough sketch pencil (I use two kinds of penclis, the colored ones for rough sketch, the graphite for detailed sketching) and it's the first time for me to experience the Pilot Shaker and Eno graphite lead combo.
It's worth investing on these materials than generic ones kasi the branded mech pencils have better mechanisms that avoid the breakage of the leads inside and the branded leads also perform better than generic cheap leads (marami din additives). so it's an important consideration for artist. Try this one out for yourself!
