The 5977 is great axe. Neck through construction, butternut body, maple top, carbon reinforced maple neck with an ebony board, 24 frets, locking tuners, 6 1/2lbs. This is the first iteration, aside from the prototype. More to come of this model in the future, hopefully. by @spazzocaster

Im still a couple weeks out on this guitar, but I had to stick the bridge and pickguard on to have a peak. I gotta say, the Gregory 5977 is a bad mutual.

Building some sliding cabinet doors and we thought it hip to include some skate bearings, because we're cool like that. I was initially having trouble adjusting the bearing in the slot, so I used the power of magnets!. Im sure one day we will discover that magnets were the source of our politics, but until that day we live on. by @spazzocaster

Here is the prototype of a new model I have been working on. The 5977. Named after my favorite Grateful Dead show. It's 24 frets, neck through. This one happens to be a maple neck and a butternut body with a wedge top and maple back. The P90/humbucker combo suits this particular one. I will be changing the nut from bone to brass, just for a little brightness. So far, after all the guitars I have made over the years, this one has been my favorite to play.

I built this as a shop guitar, basically cobbled it together from an odd selection of wood, plastic binding, that looks like I cut it with a beavers dick and glued it on with toe cheese, suspect glue joints, laminated bone shards for a nut, crappy electronics, spray all over the inside, inlays that look like a cartoon drawing of inlays that are evidently just shy of a dozen. My joy, for the sound of this thing was quickly swept into the bin and replaced with astonishment, self doubt, self realization, shame and ultimately, acceptance and laughter about this, because I recently did this on a custom build. Thats not something that's terribly easy to live down.
Moral of the story? Pay more attention, take it as a lesson, and consider myself lucky to be able to claim such a royal Doh, not once, not twice, but 3 wonderful times,

Building a Flying V weather vane. You gotta be some kind of fancy, with deep pockets to have something like this. Its a ways off from being finished, as I work on it when the mood strikes.
