Mini summer staycation (within a 2 hour radius) 2026 ft. Schubert’s twig legs from following me into the water 🌊 , dinner 🪽 and a movie 🍮 and then the best dessert in Portland 🍨.

Seymour joined the pack nervous and afraid of everyone. He used to dart from under my parents’ bed up the stairs to hide under the bed in my brother’s room with frustratingly bizarre speed. Seymour’s recurrent cherry eye never stopped him from staring you down for more dinner. Titi almost always wore a hoodie, which complemented his rotund frame, which we found out through genetic testing was because he had hypochondroplasia (a form of dwarfism that shortens limbs). He bullied my dad, the purveyor of daily walks and jerky, constantly, physically pulling off his blankets and beating down the door before 6am. It took him time to trust us and I’m so glad he did. We spent many nights together during my visits patrolling the guest bedroom floor and demanding he be let upstairs (to bully my dad for more jerky of course). Our round boy fought off death for an entire year, while cosplaying Riff Raff from Rocky Horror, just to get more jerkys and a few more helpings of Saffron’s kibble after finishing his own. He was stubborn and perfect and I’ll miss him so much. Rest easy, my Jimmy Dean. I love you. 💔🕊️ by @speetsy

Natalie’s Nacho Week was a success! The clear winner was the pulled pork nachos at Fire on the Mountain. However, we did enjoy the more traditional veggie nachos at Low Tide. We deviated from the mission a few select times to enjoy some classic ruebens on St. Patty’s Day; sampled pastries at Crema, Ken’s, and Farina; and ventured across the city to make the most of pre-Spring weather. Schubert might be the first dog to hike Powell Butte in custom-made shamrock jammies. Missing our Nattie already ❤️
