Sharing some EARLY photos of our first riso Barbara and early event and workshop photos!

Photo two is when she only had one sticker! This was shortly after @jgspdx had moved her into our studio in the Ford Building and this is me holding one of my many oversized wooden receipt paintings that I was making at the time. Circa 2013? i think?

Photo three is of the first workshop materials that I developed in the summer of 2017 when I was prepping a test workshops for a small group of folks from @kampgrizzly and @instrument. These two groups were my workshop dress rehearsals!

Photo four is when we first moved Barbara into what is now Outlet in April of 2017. At that point I wasn’t sure what this space was going to be aside from a way more public studio space that would offer workshops on a variety of creative topics. Jason suggested that I take Barbara because folks might want to learn more about riso. I think he was right 😎🤩❤️

Photo five is the team from @instrument who were some of my first riso workshop testers. Thanks to @tinasnowle for making this happen! Fun fact: Tina gave me the giant piñata Cheeto that has been hanging in Outlet since day one.

Let’s keep this riso party going!

marked two states off my us map last weekend — kansas and missouri. a weekend filled with lots of laughter, food, friendship bracelets, jason sudeikis, and more importantly — the love that comes with meeting your online friends in person for the first time while contributing to the incredible organization that is @stepsoffaithfoundation. thundergong 2022 was a success for the thundergang and we’re already planning next year’s trip. love you all soo much🥹

I lead a monthly zine making workshop @outletpdx and one of my favorite parts of the workshop is grabbing a random handful of zines from my library to share with the group. For about 15 minutes I get to pretend that I’m Levar Burton (dream, honestly) and I share out a few details about my selected pile of zines. 🌈

I get so much energy from flipping through the incredible work that people pour into these pages. What a powerful way to create and share. Thanks to all of the zinemakers everywhere for putting their words and images to the page and making multiples and sharing out. This process has been giving me goosebumps since I made my first one over 20 years ago and still continues to sort of overwhelm (in a good way) and inspire to this day. 🤩

And if you want to make a zine on Saturday there are still a few seats left or if you want to join one of our upcoming monthly classes, please do so! ✏️

Just did a re-up @kellypaperco for the second printing of @ppl4me pamphlets for a collaboration with @writeinteressaraiford. Headed to @outletpdx 😘☄️📝

We have a table at the @disarmpsunow park block party today! Come down and pick up some posters including a special edition print by @jolbyjosh! Plenty of @teressalraiford posters as well as stickers and @lelandthebird is also running a DIY button making station!
