POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Being cast in this musical has been an honor. I remember being called back for SpongeBob and giving my all even though I truly believed the role was going to be given to someone who was white. I was prepared to not be cast at all but I was pleasantly surprised when I was cast as the SpongeBob SquarePants. Not only was this a dream role of mine but being able to take care of this character for the past few months has made me take care of myself more. I was also pleasantly surprised to work with an amazing director and castmates. This has been the best show I’ve ever done and I’m so proud of all of us that put the show together. Usually I am sad about a show ending but this show left me feeling like it was the beginning of something new. This experience solidified that I am an actor and I want to pursue musical theatre professionally, but I also want to continue my journey as a visual artist as well. I don’t know how I’m going to make it work but I will make it work even if it kills me.

Thank you everyone, cast, crew, directors, choreographers, or anyone I’ve worked with in the past during other shows as well. You all shaped me into the performer I am today, and I’m just getting started. by @spekz.exe

In preparation of my thesis, I present to you, character turnarounds. Space: Overloaded will again be my thesis project because it’s gotten better as I’ve grown as an artist and the story itself has become something way more meaningful than I’ve ever imagined it could be. More will come soon!

Moyo Melodies #2 @samarajoysings discography is a treasure trove of musical perfection— one which I was introduced to with the release of her hit 2022 album “Linger Awhile.” This album, complete with standards any jazz fan would love (such as Misty and Round Midnight), put her on the map as it earned her the 2023 Grammies for Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album. Those Grammies— and the 3 that she has earned since— are absolutely deserved, as Joy’s vocals only continue to impress. She has since released more albums, original compositions, and a single this year titled “Three Little Words,” all of which showcase her intense love for the art form. With her fearsome technical skill and classic sound, Joy’s music is truly a gift to listen to. If you’re looking for a new artist to listen to for the new year, I’d encourage you to give Joy’s music a try— you won’t be disappointed!
