I had (have?) the goal to read 52 books this year, and saying I'm far from reaching it is an understament lol.

I've read 14 books so far and all but one were indie books, and 7 of them are by authors I work/worked with.

Different genres, different age group but one thing in common, fantasy and/or romance!

Have you found any hidden gems this year so far? 👀

"I've forgotten nearly everything—my name, my home, my life. But I still remember you, my True North."

Very excited to dive into Whisper of Nightmares by @author_jessaca_willis next ✨️

It sounds the perfect read for colder weather so I'm manifesting the end of this heatwave with a moody read now that I'm going back home 🙂‍↕️

Whisper of Nightmares is a standalone gothic romantasy featuring:

🥀 A cursed lord
🖤 His haunted bride
🥀 Marriage of convenience
🖤 Ghost with unfinished business
🥀 Old gods vs new faith
🖤 Slow burn yearning
🥀 Old secrets that refuse to stay buried

Coming August 18. Available to pre-order with some cool incentives 👀

Thanks to @hiddenhollowbooktours for having me on the tour!

I've been thinking of coming back for months but every time I tried, my post was never good enough, the timing wasn't optimal or "what I even talk about".

But I've been working with so many incredible authors, and read many amazing books this past year, that you just need to know about them. So it's time to fight perfectionism. One ugly post at a time.

August first seemed a good day to start again, so here are my hopefuls for the month.

I'm currently reading Isle of Dragon Bones by M.A. Frick and up next I'll read Whisper of Nightmares by Jessaca Willis for the review tour with Hidden Hollow Book Tours.

I've beta read Written in Scent by Sofia Rose earlier this year and I hopefully I will have time to reread it before its release.

Second row is the "hopeful" one. I want to read Rain Witch by Alida Miranda-Wolff and Into the Flood (not pictured here) before the latter comes out at the end of September, and Caenogenesis by Tasha He before beta reading the next book.

And... it's likely impossible I'll read Burn Her They Said by Cherish Wright this month but I've been thinking about it since the release... if you know the book, you know she's the chonkiest 🤭

That's all. If you love supporting indie authors and read indie books you should follow me.

What books do you want to read this month?

✨ Why did I build Page Turner PA?

Because I needed it.

After juggling multiple systems, subscriptions, and endless spreadsheets, I decided to build a solution that actually works for the way I run my PA business. 💕

Check it out here: https://www.pageturnerpa.com/

Book 3 and 4 of the year 📚

Fast reader who dis? In January I've read one book and now it's three already in February 🤭

The Eternals Series
A urban fantasy series by Marianna Peci

🌹 A House of Scarlet Souls is already available
🗡 A House of Onyx Tears is releasing tomorrow!

For you if you enjoyed those vampire books of the last decade lol

Both read quick, but A House of Onyx Tears was really enjoyable! It has more depth, more nuance, and overall stronger writing. Like the first book, it ends on a cliffhanger, but a more shocking one... "wait what?"

I didn't find any info about the next book so I can only hope it will come out sooner than later.

The best way to describe the series is something like The Originals meets fantasy royalty, but here the vampire are much nicer and kinder lol.

In A House of Onyx Tears I really enjoyed Veronika. She's much more of a cinnamon roll than she wants us to believe 🧁

Thanks to @coloredpagesbt for having me on another tour!

And thanks to @artbiscus for the review copies!

2/52 📚 Cursed by the Stars by Michele Khalil

Thanks to @coloredpagesbt for having me on this tour!

Mini review:

I wanted to love this book but I didn’t vibe with the writing.

What I loved was the politcal intrigue and the poltical themes that were so close to our world.

I think the story has much potential, espeially the rebellion. I hope the next book will explore further the origin of Ambigua.

I know the writing is a me problem so it's definetely worth checking out once it releases if you enjoy slow burn romantasy and books with trials.

If you know me, you know I'm a little ✨️ messy ✨️ so even if a month went by already... here some of my goals for the year.

📚 Read books from my tbr (physical tbr but also from the one I have in my brain aka books from authors I follow here and on threads)

🧠 Work full time as personal assistant because indie authors are amazing

✍️🏼 Work on a secret project—pa related 🤫

🌿 Graduate which is probably the easiest but also the hardest goal for me

💫 Be intentional in every other thing—from exploring more hobbies to also posting here.

Be ready to see more and thank you for being with me 🫶🏻

The kickstarter is live! 💚💫

The release of Shadows Eternal is getting closer and @cavaleri.archive.author brought us a stunning a special edition, art swag and goodies through Kickstarter.

If you love dark fantasy, romance, broken yet powerful characters, found family, then Remnant Archives is the series for you 🖤

If you haven't entered Faerie yet, now it's the right time to do it—you won’t regret it* 🙂‍↕️

*I haven't started reading Shadows Eternal so if it breaks your heart, that’s not my fault 👀

#backeditbecause this series holds a special place in my heart because my life started to change when I read Shadows Lost and joined the feral gnome army (aka B.K. Cavaleri street team) 🥰

You can find the project on Kickstarter through @cavaleri.archive.author's b!o or searching "shadows eternal" directly on Kickstarter
