Friends, we are under attack.

Sooner or later the reality must hit you that there is never now, nor will there ever be a valid reason for entire school districts to close down temporarily in order to protect children from the United States Government. Innocent people are being gunned down in the streets. Our friends and neighbors are being kidnapped or worse on a daily basis.

Stop waiting until it gets "that bad". It is "that bad".

The DHS is lying to you. ICE are not your friends. The police are not your friends. The government will kill you for a minor infraction and then frame you as a terrorist on FOX news. We are watching this happen in real time. You cannot continue to pretend it's not happening because very soon it will be too little, too late.

I made this picture to put some helpful information together but I'll also write it here.

You have the right to: Remain silent and not answer any questions. Refuse searches or entry without a warrant signed by a judge. Know if and why you are being detained or arrested. Refuse to sign anything and ask to speak with an attorney. Record what is happening to you and others.

I lost my best friend today.

After 16 years the world has lost one of its best pieces. My dog, Fizzgig. Fizzy was with me through pretty much every significant event in my life. School, jobs, bands, shows. Everything.

Now this guy was tough. When he was about 3 years old he ran out into the street and got hit by a car. What did he do? He ran back home. From that point on the dude was bionic, he had metal in his leg and he proved he was tougher than all of us. Back in June we had a pretty major scare where he couldn’t walk anymore and he was hurting pretty bad. Did he give up then? No! He took some steroids and got back up and running. Mind you, the guy was only 10lbs. Earlier this year I did a play where the premise was that my character's dog had just died and I made him promise me he'd last at least until the show was finished, and sure enough he did.

But this past week it was different, and we knew. And so did he.

Mind you, he was 16 years old. The average expectancy for his breed is 10-12 so not only was he a super strong metal man by the end, but he outlived all his competition, no question about it.

I don't know how it started but every year on Christmas Eve for about the past 5 years I'd always sit him down and ask for one more Christmas Eve with him. But this past year I could see in his face how tired he was getting, and I didn't ask him. I told him it was okay if he was tired. And he almost even made it to this one.

Last night, I held him and I apologized for how it was ending, and forgave him for the hundreds of times he woke me up by barking or scratching at my door. He would sleep outside my room almost every night until he couldn’t get upstairs anymore.

It's going to be a really rough few days, maybe weeks at home but he knows he was just as loved as anything could be. And he lived up to his namesake, a loud but harmless furball. I'll miss you forever.

Fizzgig, a friendly monster. 🖤 by @spencer_dragon

**SPOILERS FOR BARE IN POST**

I open as Matt in Bare tomorrow night at CAP Merrick. Shows like bare are immensely important, especially in today's socio-political climate, and I encourage anyone who can to come see it.

**CW: Homophobia, Religious Trauma, Violence, Drug Use, Sex.**

Synopsis
A pulsating, electric contemporary rock musical, bare follows a group of students at a Catholic boarding school as they grapple with issues of sexuality, identity, and the future. Peter and Jason have fallen in love with each other, but Jason -- a popular athlete -- fears losing his status if he is discovered to be gay. Unpopular Nadia, Jason’s sister, is contemptuous of Ivy, a beautiful girl with a questionable reputation. As the group attempts to put up a production of Romeo and Juliet, tensions flare, self-doubt simmers, and God’s path seems more difficult to find than ever. bare rings with the sounds of youthful repression and revolt. With a unique sung-through pop score, heart-pounding lyrics, and a cast of bright young characters, bare is a provocative, fresh, and utterly honest look at the dangers of baring your soul, and the consequences of continuing to hide.

My dates are:
January 11th
January 18th
January 19th
January 25th
January 31st
February 2nd

If you can't make it to see me, come see my double. This show is important. by @spencer_dragon

After spending the most unforgettable summer of my life in Iowa of all places, I'm super excited to be working closer to home! I delayed posting for a little bit to make sure that everything was confirmed and public information, but for my next gig you can catch me at 30 Rock in Jimmy Fallon's Tonightmares from mid September through October!

Super super excited for this Halloween season and a huge thank you to @rwsglobaltalent and @nbcuniversal for the opportunity! Link in bio! #raiseyourexperience by @spencer_dragon

Four days from now will be 1 year since I did my first audition. Today, I signed my first professional contract.

It's official. As of May 20th, I'll be moving Waterloo, Iowa for the next three months. I'll be originating the character "Mu" at Lost Island, performing six days a week.

When I decided to start acting as an adult, I felt that I started way too late. Starting at 24 years old and seeing how much experience everybody around me already had under their belts, I'd felt like this past year was spent scrambling to make up for the past decade of not doing this, and I wasn't sure if all the work was worth it. At one point I was involved in four seperate productions at the same time because I felt obligated to take on everything I could so I'd be able to have some of the experience and talent of my peers and my friends.

I've always had a lot of trouble believing in myself and in my talent no matter what I was doing in life, but now I know that at least some people outside of my immediate family and friends believe in me enough to send me across the country for 3 months and pay me an actual living wage. This is a huge opportunity for me and I couldn't be happier to officially be starting my professional career as an actor.

That being said, if anyone wants to hang out I'll be gone from may 20th until late August, so let me know now! by @spencer_dragon

**Long sappy post incoming**

World Theater Day.

For anybody who hasn't really interacted with me in the past year this is probably way outta left field. But over this past year, my life has changed more than it had in the previous decade. I was looking for a good time to make this post, and there's no better time than the day celebrating what has become one of the most important aspects of my life.

I had done theater in school, but after graduation I'd pretty much left it there and spent the majority of my creative efforts on trying to make it in the metal scene. This past year I decided to give it a try as an adult and it genuinely may have been one of the best decisions I've ever made. It's been almost exactly a year since I did my first real audition and I haven't stopped being in a show or rehearsal since then. Theater has taught me so much about community, family, hard work, dedication, and especially about myself as a person.

In the first show I was a part of, I had the very first line. The lights came up only on me, and I sang in front of a crowd for the first time in a long time. As soon as those words left my mouth, I knew that I wanted this to be a part of my life forever. This year has been such a drastic change in almost every aspect of my life, but most importantly my outlook on my own future. I am a person who has a tendency to let negative thoughts about myself and where I'm going in life really tear me down. But now I know that no matter where I go in life, no matter what I do I'll have a place here, in this industry, with people who care. It cannot be overstated how immensely important that realization was to me.

I have met my closest friends, done my proudest work, and learned so much this past year. There are too many people to tag, too many memories to share, too many words to say. So here are a just a few from this year. Even if you're not in these photos or videos, if I shared a stage with you, or you came out to see a show, or if we worked together in any way this past year, just know that I appreciate you more than words could ever express.

I love theater.
I love my friends.
