As I sit at home and reflect on my last three months, it hasn’t fully hit me how much I am going to miss these people and this experience. Being an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera really helped me grow, both as a singer and a person.

Each and every day this group astounded me with their artistry and their passion for opera. They are also some of the funniest and compassionate people I’ve ever met. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to explain how much getting to a part of this group made me a better artist.

On a more personal note, getting to be a part of Maestro DeRenzi’s 44th and final season as Artistic Director of Sarasota Opera was also special. Getting to learn under someone with such a deep knowledge, love, and passion for this art meant I was always learning. I’m a better singer and have a deeper love of opera because of Maestro DeRenzi.

Thank you so much to everyone involved, you made my experience that much better getting to be around all you amazing humans. by @spencermac59
