This photoshoot was the most special to me in Sphere One’s 27 years
Huge thanks to @sarahwalkergallery for arranging for Sphere One to shoot AW26 at the place that her father Robin Walker designed, that has given her family, as well as mine and countless friends over the years, moments of magic, nurture, fun, intellectual stimulation, wonderful cuisine and a place to truly relax.
To be in Bóthar Buí is to drink in the visual beauty of a moving painting that is the land and sea-scape from ones vantage point floating above the 500 year old native oak forest.
It was the brilliant @aisfarinella that suggested BB, and we were so lucky that @richgilligan and @dave_thepeoplewemeet agreed to capture Sphere One here.
This black and white shot that we did first encapsulates the mood: calm, timeless confident.
I shed a tear on the day to think of all the Bóthar Buí tribe that influenced me, so many now gone: Alan, Tony, Pat & Pat, John Meagher, Paddy & Frankie, Shane & Una, my parents Desmond & Margaret, and particularly Robin who dreamt it and Dorothy whose skill and passion for cuisine was the making of it, my siblings and all the Walkers and our mutual friends who continue to love, challenge, support and share in this idyllic haven.

The importance of materiality in design is akin to the Bauhaus principle of form follows function. The Gillian sweater in black in our new Loro Piana carded cashmere for AW26 shows that seemingly understated design and style can be all about the yarn. Fuller, deeper and fuzzier to the surface than combed cashmere, it is divine to the touch with a genuine cloud-like feel. ⁠

Sunday’s Fashion Conversations with Coffee brought together four indomitable voices in Irish fashion.

Fuelled by delicious Nespresso,
Sharon Hoey of AndTate, Anna Guerin of The Landskein, Lucy Downes of Sphere One and Christine Murphy of Urban Aran talked honestly about their beginnings, their craft, the fashion industry and their perspectives on what makes a fashion business sustainable in 2026.

So frank and funny were their stories, the event might well have been called “Fashion Confessions with Coffee.”
