Last night at Carnegie Hall was everything ✨

Sphinx Virtuosi brought American Dialogues to New York as we began celebrating 30 years of Sphinx, with a hall full of music, community, and so much joy.

And one part of the night meant even more: 1,352 complimentary tickets helped welcome students, families, and community members into Carnegie Hall.

We’re deeply grateful to Gwen Lancaster, Susan Zohn, Douglas Love, Howard Hertz, Terry Woodward, and Jacqueline C. Washington for helping make that access possible.

What a way to begin this anniversary year 💛

The Sphinx Competition Laureate joins the York Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, October 24 for Beethoven’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major, one of the repertoire’s most demanding and exhilarating works.

It’s a major performance moment for Adé, bringing her artistry to the York stage in one of the violin canon’s towering concertos.

Being invited into the conversation is not the same as being given the opportunity to lead. 💙

For Patricio Molina, leadership means thinking beyond who gets a seat at the table to who is supported, trusted, and promoted once they get there.

Through Sphinx LEAD, Patricio is thinking deeply about the kind of culture he wants to create: one where people who have had to fight to be heard are invited in, their voices carry weight, and opportunity continues as they grow.

What keeps someone coming back to SphinxConnect year after year? 💙

For Richard Desinord, it’s the chance to meet new people, hear new perspectives, and learn something he can carry back into his own work.

As an assistant professor of music and music theorist, Richard spends much of his time in academic spaces. SphinxConnect gives him something different: direct connection with performers, artists, and people working across the field.

He has been attending since 2018, and each gathering offers another opportunity to step outside his usual environment and see the field from another angle.
