National Black Dog Day🖤 is celebrated annually on October 1st to raise awareness and promote shelter adoption for dark-coated dogs. When I was 3 yrs. old I fell in love with my first black dog/familiar. Guess it wasn't surprising I grew up to be a priestess of Hecate who also favors them!

What is Black Dog Syndrome?
•Shelter workers have long observed that dark-coated canines are consistently passed over and face the lowest adoption rates.
•Black dogs are harder to photograph clearly online, tend to blend into dark kennel corners, and sometimes suffer from unfair media tropes or outdated superstitions.
• Their behavior, loyalty, and capacity for love are completely identical to dogs of any other color.
How Can You Help?
• Adopt or Foster: Visit a local shelter to meet and give a home to an overlooked dark-furred companion.
• Volunteer: Offer your time to walk shelter dogs or take high-contrast photos of black pets to help them stand out online.
• Share on Social Media: Post pictures of your own black rescue pets using the hashtag #NationalBlackDogDay to spread awareness.
Do you have a black dog of your own, or are you looking to adopt or foster a new companion today?
🖤 Argos says "HAPPY NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY!"

As discussed during the Mabon Special on Croneside Coffee Chat, our Sanctuary has the tradition of creating a Gratitude Mandala to honor the Land Spirits and our animal kin. Here is a small one we created by the stream. You can go to our Patreon page to get inspired by photos of past mandalas we created to inspire you to make your own! ##naturespirituality #naturesanctuary #mabon #AutumnEquinox #witchesofinstagram taken in Glen Rock, Pennsylvania by @spiralsojournsanctuary

I was blessed to experience several pods of dolphins at OC and they brought great joy to my Spirit.

Dolphin reminds us to approach life with humor and not take things too seriously.

They move smoothly with the waves of water, teaching balance and peaceful cooperation.

Dolphins guard their pods and guide travelers safely, symbolizing safety and trust.

They communicate using complex clicks and whistles, linking them to empathy, telepathy, and clear expression.
