National Black Dog Day🖤 is celebrated annually on October 1st to raise awareness and promote shelter adoption for dark-coated dogs. When I was 3 yrs. old I fell in love with my first black dog/familiar. Guess it wasn't surprising I grew up to be a priestess of Hecate who also favors them!

What is Black Dog Syndrome?
•Shelter workers have long observed that dark-coated canines are consistently passed over and face the lowest adoption rates.
•Black dogs are harder to photograph clearly online, tend to blend into dark kennel corners, and sometimes suffer from unfair media tropes or outdated superstitions.
• Their behavior, loyalty, and capacity for love are completely identical to dogs of any other color.
How Can You Help?
• Adopt or Foster: Visit a local shelter to meet and give a home to an overlooked dark-furred companion.
• Volunteer: Offer your time to walk shelter dogs or take high-contrast photos of black pets to help them stand out online.
• Share on Social Media: Post pictures of your own black rescue pets using the hashtag #NationalBlackDogDay to spread awareness.
Do you have a black dog of your own, or are you looking to adopt or foster a new companion today?
🖤 Argos says "HAPPY NATIONAL BLACK DOG DAY!"

Litha, as we call it in the eclectic Faery Tradition of witchcraft I’m initiated in, is a time to celebrate light.

To invite warmth, and honor the growing things that revel in this time of earth’s greening. The land is wet and hot and ALIVE these months here on the east coast.

I’ve been in the US for less than a week, and I’m so happy I could be here to join my coven’s celebration for Litha! I always feel like my eyes are adjusting for at least two weeks after returning to the east coast from the arid Mediterranean: the land goes to brown and spiky so quickly in Greece, and the plentiful rains of summer here in the US are such a blessing.

The Green Man is alive and well in every day lily and shining marigold.

For those new here, I am a native Greek-Egyptian Priestess, and an initiated High Priestess in the eclectic Faery Tradition of witchcraft.

This is the coven I trained with, at our family covenstead. As with many witchcraft traditions, the rituals themselves are closed, but I wanted to share these snippets of the beautiful magic we do so you could all be a part of it!

Blessed Litha/Solstice to all who celebrate! 🌞 What wishes are you inviting the Green Man to help you with this summer?

Looking to deepen your magical practice? The first step is mastering your own energy. Comment “Litha” and I’ll DM you a FREE Energy Protection workbook.
