Made a start on my festive turned twill. I couldn’t quite remember how the turned twill patterned worked but …. happy to say I have it set up correctly although I wasn’t totally sure until the weaving had begun! I weave colourful handwoven scarves, snoods and shawls - it will come as no surprise to anyone that I love colour. Many of my handwoven accessories include a wide colour palette making them super versatile but if you want to shop by a specific colour you can do this on my website here: https://www.emmabaker.org/choosing-the-colour-of-a-handwoven-scarf Lady wearing a bright checked shawl taken in Salisbury, Wiltshire by @spire.crafts

Sampling… Merino lambswool is a luxury yarn and not inexpensive either so I like to sample weave first. I have written about sampling in a blog about the process of weaving a handwoven scarf if you are interested in this step and others in creating a handwoven scarf or snood: https://www.emmabaker.org/post/from-yarn-to-luxury-handwoven-designer-scarves-and-snoods A checked weave on a floor loom with a small square loom woven in the same colours resting on top taken in Salisbury, Wiltshire by @spire.crafts
