🧵 We are delighted to welcome Emma Baker @spire.crafts - handweaver and textile designer, as a new member of the @NewForestMarque Inspired group of artists and makers.

🧣 Emma’s beautifully crafted scarves, snoods and shawls reflect her passion for sustainability, traditional craftsmanship, and the natural beauty of the New Forest. Each piece is carefully designed and woven by hand, using natural fibres like merino lambswool, organic cotton, and silk.

🌳 Living on the edge of the Forest, Emma draws inspiration from regular walks through its ancient woodlands and heathlands with seasonal colours and textures featuring in her work on both rigid heddle looms and an 8-shaft floor loom.

🙌 Emma says joining the scheme feels like a natural fit, aligning perfectly with her values of celebrating local provenance, community, and slow-made design.

Discover Emma’s work at www.emmabaker.org. Instagram @spire.crafts and Facebook at Emma Baker Handwoven.

After all the lovely activities yesterday I have the luxury today of being able to do a little weaving.

Here I am weaving with some handspun merino yarn. Lots of people ask us whether you can weave with handspun yarn and a blog article on our website ‘5 key tips for weaving a stash of hand spun yarn to weave a beautiful luxury scarf’ might be a useful starting point if you are interested.
