Another night under the stars on the Big Island. There’s nothing quite like looking up and seeing the Milky Way shining so brightly across the sky. Every time I’m out here with my camera, I’m reminded just how incredible this island is. by @splashzone_808

A couple of shots of these beautiful Palila, and what an incredible encounter it was. They came so incredibly close to us that it honestly felt like we could just reach out and touch them. What made it even more special was the weather—we were out there in the middle of some hard, pouring rain, but these little guys didn’t seem to mind. Sometimes the best wildlife moments happen when you least expect them, and this was definitely one of those moments I’ll never forget. by @splashzone_808

Happy Aloha Friday! I honestly didn’t think I was going to be able to capture some Astro on the Big Island, but I’m so glad we made it happen! We went back to the same tree we always shoot at, and once again, it never fails me. There’s just something special about returning to a familiar spot and watching the night sky put on a show. Big Island nights never disappoint. by @splashzone_808

A short hike on the Big Island turned into a beautiful 15-minute encounter with this incredible native bird. He gave us the perfect window to slow down, watch, and capture a few moments before continuing on our way. I truly hope he made it safely through the storm and is still out there thriving. by @splashzone_808

There’s nothing quite like witnessing the raw power of Hawaiʻi. Capturing these lava shots on the Big Island was awesome because i finally was able to catch it! Every-time i visit the Big Island I always miss it! 😂😂 by @splashzone_808
