“I know it’s not fucking easy. But it sure as hell is necessary.”

Nobody talks about this part.

Not the breakthrough. Not the rise

The part before all of that.

The 3am crying you can’t explain. The grief with no name. The anger with no face. Walking back into the darkest rooms of yourself, the ones you bolted shut years ago and just sitting in them.

Alone …

• Without running
• Without numbing

That takes something most people never find, because most people never want to look.

It takes strength, not the kind you flex. The quiet kind. The kind that whispers “I am not okay” and means it.

It takes courage no one will applaud. Because this battle is invisible. Showing up to feel the thing you buried, again and again!

That’s called courage

It takes awareness brutal enough to say: I created this. I chose this. I repeated this. Not to shame yourself. To finally see yourself.

It takes love for the version of you who was just trying to survive. And mercy when you find things in yourself that are hard to forgive. And grace when you fall back into old patterns mid-healing, because you will, and that’s not failure.

That’s the spiral going deeper.

And somewhere past all of it … the rage, the grief, the doubt, something shifts.

You catch the thought before it swallows you. You choose yourself, where you never would have before.

You look at your life and feel warm.

Not because it’s perfect, but because you’re finally real.

Do the f*ckin work no one talks about, it was and always will be, yours to do!

Save this and share it with someone who needs it.

Part III - The Outcome

That was it …

A few quiet minutes on a bench with my dad.
And it changed everything.

I became obsessed with observing human beings, what they don’t say, what lives beneath the surface, what they carry alone in silence. Everything I do today traces back to that one lesson that cost him nothing but a few minutes of his time.

Because here’s what I know now …

Men are carrying so much. And most of them have never once been given a safe place to set it down. No space to speak freely. No room to be vulnerable without judgment. No brother to simply sit beside them and say, I see you. You’re not alone.

That is the work I show up for every single day.

As a coach, a mentor, a friend … my mission has always been to create that space. In one on one conversations, in group settings, in men’s circles, in meditations. I am committed to building environments where men can finally exhale. Where they can speak the things they’ve only ever thought. Where they can grieve, grow, laugh, struggle and rise, together.

This isn’t soft work. This is some of the hardest shit one will ever have to do and the most important work there is while we’re on this earth.

My father never had that space. I believe he suffered in silence because of it. And I carry that with me every single day as my greatest inspiration.

We need spaces to share how we’re feeling. It is my duty to create that space for every man I’ve and have yet to meet in this lifetime.

We are a band of brothers and no man will ever be left behind as long as I live.

Jesus gives me the strength to carry that cross forward. And my father gave me the strength through his silence, his mere existence and his clear example.

He made me the man I am today without ever having to do a thing. He simply was …

I will forever honor that by just being!

JUST BE

“There is a voice that doesn’t use any words, just listen”

It never raises itself above a whisper

It doesn’t compete with the noise of your notifications, your deadlines, your doubts or your to-do lists. It simply waits.

• Patient
• Steady
• Full Of Love

This is the voice of intuition …

And if you’ve ever felt it, you know it doesn’t quite come from you. It comes through you. That gentle nudge that says this is the right path, before your mind can explain why. That quiet knowing that settles in your chest when everything else is loud and uncertain.

That voice is God

God doesn’t shout, because love never has to.

Love doesn’t beg for your attention or force its way in. It stands at the door and knocks softly, trusting that when you’re ready, when you’re still enough, you’ll hear it.

The problem is we’ve built a world designed to keep us from ever being still. We fill every silence with sound, every pause with scrolling, every quiet moment with something louder.

So we miss it.

We miss the whisper that could change everything.

Rumi knew it. The mystics knew it. The prophets knew it. Every great spiritual tradition points to the same truth, the divine speaks in stillness. Elijah didn’t find God in the earthquake or the fire. He found Him in the still, small voice that came after.

That voice is still speaking

To you. Right now. In the spaces between your thoughts, in the pause before you react, in the early morning before the world wakes up and demands something from you.

But you have to stop …

You have to be willing to sit in the quiet long enough to hear it, even when the quiet feels uncomfortable. Even when stillness feels like wasted time. Even when every habit you’ve built pushes you toward distraction.

Because the moment you go still, truly and deeply still, that voice rises up like water finding its level. And what it says will always be the same thing underneath all the different words:

You are loved. You are guided. You are not lost.
So today, put the phone down. Step away from the noise. Close your eyes, slow your breath, and just listen.

There is a voice that doesn’t use any words.

It has been waiting for you. Just Be

Part II - The Lesson

Saturdays, my father would take me to Fun & Games, an arcade at Willowbrook Mall. Lexington Diner on Sunday mornings before he would drop me off back home. On Wednesdays in the summer were our beach days at Sandy Hook. Carvel in Clifton to get ice cream, he loved his ice cream. And I can’t forget the runs we would have at Garrett Mountain and Rifle Camp Park, that even my sisters took part in.

That was mostly it … creature of habit I’d say, but always consistent with making sure I had those days.

For years as a kid, I carried resentment over his absence. Always reflecting upon those short moments together, comparing them to what other kids I knew may have had.

There is a specific moment, engrained in me …

At thirteen, something happened that changed my life. I’d saved most of my arcade money, I was good, rarely lost and I noticed my dad walk into the food court as he always did.

For the first time, I wondered: what does he do while I’m in there? So I followed him …

I watched him get a coffee at Starbucks, he practically lived on coffee and then go on to sit alone on the bench facing the mall, just sitting and watching people pass by. For twenty minutes I stood there confused.

Is he meeting someone?
Does he have other kids I don’t know about?

Eventually I walked up. What are you doing? He looked at me and said, you’re done already?

Knowing I never lost ..

I then repeated the question and he said, sit down. So I did. He said, look. I said, at what? He said, just look. So I asked, are you watching people?

It’s important, he said. To understand people. How they’re feeling, what they’re going through, how they move. It’s important to understand your environment.

In that moment, time slowed down …

I didn’t know why or for what reason, but it did.

In my later years, I’ve thought about how much I would’ve loved more of those minutes. But my heart is full of gratitude in knowing I had the ones that I had.

They’ll live on forever, as long as I breathe.

“Keep every stone they throw at you, you have a castle to build.”

This one hits different …

• Every person who ever doubted you
• Every door that closed in your face

Every betrayal, every rejection, every time someone said you weren’t enough. What if none of that was meant to break you? What if it was all just material?

The most powerful thing you can do to someone who throws stones at you is refuse to fall and instead, bend down, pick it up and add that sh*t to your foundation.

Pain is either a prison or a building block …

You decide!

The people who tried to discourage you, handed you resilience. The ones who walked away, taught you self-reliance. The failures that humiliated you, gave you wisdom no classroom ever could. The criticism that stung, gave you the thick skin you’ll need for the level you’re climbing to.

None of it was wasted … Not one f*ckin stone!

History is full of people who were counted out, talked down upon and written off … who went on to build something so undeniable that the same people who threw the stones, later claimed a seat at the table.

That’s the quiet power of this mindset …

It strips your enemies of their ability to hurt you. Because the moment you decide that every obstacle is a resource, every attack becomes a contribution to your rise. They think they’re stopping you. They’re actually funding you in becoming the best version of yourself.

So …

• Collect every stone
• Stack them with intention
• Build with patience

The bigger the attack, the stronger your castle!

Part I - The Sacrifice

Growing up, I always wanted my father around. When my parents divorced, I was six, I started seeing him less and less. Right before the divorce, we were building a tree house together and when we had to leave that home, I left that tree house behind too.

In a way it felt symbolic of our relationship …

• Unfinished
• Left Behind
• Not Enough Time

My father came to this country with nothing. One of twelve children from Colombia and the only one to make it to America and supported the whole family back home.

At such a young age, I couldn’t have understood the weight he was carrying.

Through the years, I always wondered why he never made it to my games. Baseball, soccer, wrestling … I even played soccer hoping he’d show up, knowing it was part of our culture. He never came, and I carried real resentment because of it.

He was a simple man, owned a thrift store, the clothes sold were the ones he wore and at one point he literally lived in the unfinished basement cellar of that store. Gravel floor. A fold-out cot. He never had food in his fridge. He’d wake up, have a cup of coffee, eat one big meal at lunch, at night just three cracked eggs w/ five raw garlic cloves, just to stay sharp.

He made it work with what he had. He lived simply, not because he wanted to, because he had to. I believe he suffered a lot internally, and that still brings me to tears.

It wasn’t until his death, when I was around twenty, that I started asking the hard questions. Not out of blame, but I wished we’d had more time. I wanted to know him, especially as I was becoming a man myself.

Then something finally clicked …

“They know not what they do”

My father only did what he knew, based on his upbringing, and what he observed, his father do throughout the years.

A man’s duty is to provide, profess and protect … He did exactly that the only way he knew how.

For that I’m forever grateful to have had him as my father … in his silence is where I found the man I was becoming.

“A salary is the drug that they give you to forget all your dreams.”

Uncomfortable?

Good! That means it landed

Think about it …

You had dreamz once … big, wild, yours.

Then life happened …

• Bills showed up
• Responsibilities piled on

And slowly, a paycheck began to feel less like a tool and more like a ceiling you learned to call security.

The system wasn’t designed to set you free. It was designed to keep you just comfortable enough to stop asking for more. Just paid enough to silence the voice inside you that still whispers “this isn’t it.”

The cycle is subtle and it’s brutal. You need money to survive, so you take the job. The job then takes all of your time. Your time was the only thing you had to build your dreamz. And somewhere between the Monday meetings and the Friday exhaustion, the dream starts feeling unrealistic and the salary starts feeling like enough.

But “enough” and fulfilled are two very different things

This isn’t about quitting your job tomorrow. It’s about refusing to go numb. It’s about keeping that dream alive on the side, protecting it fiercely, feeding it even when you’re f*ckin tired.

It’s about never letting a deposit into your bank account become a withdrawal from your soul.

The most dangerous comfort is the kind that slowly makes you forget what you actually wanted before the world told you to be practical and choose one lane.

Don’t trade your dreamz for a direct deposit

• Stay hungry
• Stay awake
• The dream STILL matters

Make the time in between “your busy schedule” and lock the f*ck in. Dreamz are JUST DREAMZ without taking the daily actions needed to make them real.

✨ Flashback Friday ✨

There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when two brothers, bound not by blood but by vision, find themselves standing in the same chapter of their life, in the same place, at the same time.

Tulum called us both …

My brother Voy and I made the leap, separately, yet somehow in perfect sync, to plant ourselves in the lush, soulful energy of Mexico’s Yucatán coast. Two men, on parallel paths of self-discovery, who looked at each other one day and said: what if we stopped doing this alone?

• The sun was generous
• The food was incredible
• The laughter? Unmatched

But what grew out of those conversations, over shared meals, moments held, barefoot walks and the late night discussions under the incredible starlit sky … was something far bigger than either of us anticipated.

From our sacred brotherhood, Evolutionary Men was born. A space for men to shed the armor, go deeper, rise higher and walk in their purpose with intention and integrity. A container built from real brotherhood, the kind forged through vulnerability, honesty and the courage to keep growing.

I’m grateful for every moment of that season. For the warmth of the Tulum sun on our skin, for the richness of the culture that held us and most of all, for my brother, my mentor, my co-creator and one of my greatest mirrors.

Some chapters don’t just change you, they define you. Here’s to the journeys that find us in its divine time, exactly when we’re ready to truly show up!

“It’s okay to rest, even when there’s still work to do.”

Read that again!

Because somewhere along the way, we were sold the idea that rest has to be earned, that you can only stop when everything is done, everyone is taken care of and the list is empty.

But the list is never empty …

We live in a culture that glorifies the grind so deeply that slowing down feels like falling behind. Exhaustion gets mistaken for dedication. Burnout gets worn like a badge of honor. And somewhere in the middle of all that hustle, you forget what it even feels like to Just Be.

Breathe …

Here’s what nobody tells you:

Rest isn’t the opposite of productivity, I t’s the foundation of it. You cannot pour from an empty cup!

You cannot think clearly, create boldly or show up fully when you’re running on empty and pure willpower.

• Resting is not quitting
• It’s not laziness
• It’s not weakness

It’s the most strategic thing you can do for yourself and your goals. The work will still be there tomorrow but only if you are still there too, whole and capable of being able enough to do it well.

Your body keeps the score …

When you ignore its signals long enough, it stops asking and starts demanding.

Give yourself permission to pause without the feeling of guilt, to recharge without any justification and to simply be a human being, not just a human doing.

• Rest is productive
• Silence is necessary
• You are allowed to stop

People do to be, instead of be to do. JUST BE

“What if everything you believed yourself to be was just a program designed to make you forget your power. From the moment you’re born you’re taught to fit in, to walk in straight lines, not to question, to obey, to silence your inner voice, to be useful, but for someone else’s dreamz”

This quote is a call to wake up … a challenge to question the invisible architecture of beliefs and behaviors that were built around you long before you were old enough to consent to them.

“A program designed to make you forget your power” suggests that who you think you are may not be authentically you but rather a constructed identity, shaped by society, culture, family and institutions. Like software installed on a computer, these belief systems run quietly in the background, dictating how you see yourself and what you think you’re capable of. The unsettling idea is that this “program” doesn’t just limit you, it makes you forget there was ever anything more.

“From the moment you’re born” this is key. The conditioning doesn’t announce itself. It begins in childhood, when you’re most impressionable and least equipped to question it. You didn’t choose the values, fears, or definitions of success that were handed to you. They were absorbed before you even had language to examine them.

“Fit in” taught that belonging requires shrinking yourself to match the group. Difference becomes something to hide rather than celebrate.

“Walk straight lines” basically tells us to follow the prescribed path. School, career, stability. Don’t wander to much … Don’t question the route itself.

“Obey” defer to authority, to tradition, to “the way things are.” Your own inner knowing is trained to come second, if ever at all.

“Silence your voice” is perhaps the heaviest instruction of all. To mute your authentic expression, your instincts, your truth … until eventually, you stop hearing them yourself.

The underlying message is one of reclamation, that beneath the conditioning, your original power is still there, waiting. The first act of freedom isn’t doing something radical, it’s actually discovering more of who you truly are and JUST BE. It’s simply questioning whether the story you’ve been liv taken in Just Be by @splitdreamz

“Stop collecting red flags and acting like you’re color blind.”

Let’s be honest …

• You saw it
• You felt it
• Something in you knew
• You stayed anyway

We’ve all done it. We rationalize, we minimize, we tell ourselves “it’s not that bad” or “they’ll change” or “maybe I’m overreacting.” But deep down, the signs were never hidden. We just became really skilled at looking past them.

Here’s the RAW truth …

Ignoring a red flag doesn’t make it disappear. It just means you’re choosing to decorate your life with warning signs and calling it normal.

Red flags don’t show up once. They show up, get ignored and then show up louder. Every time you dismiss one, you’re teaching yourself that your instincts can’t be trusted and that’s where the real damage happens. Not just in the relationship, but in your relationship with yourself.

Your gut isn’t dramatic … It’s data!

The pattern only breaks when you decide that your peace matters more than your comfort zone. That you’d rather walk away from something familiar than stay somewhere that slowly shrinks you and often if not always, destroys you.

You deserve connections that don’t require you to talk yourself into feeling safe … we all deserve it.

See the flags?

Believe them and choose yourself!
