I’m not very good at finishing songs. I mostly just end up jamming for ages with all my gear, having fun but ending up with very little to show for it. Sometimes it’s good to lean into doing a cover, just so you know when it’s done!
I then had to make some edits to get it under 3 mins to share on here, but I can actually get through the whole track, promise…

Obligatory hospital selfie post!

I’m home now, and mostly recovered, but on Monday night I got very sick whilst teching a show in the west end. So much so an ambulance had to be called. I then went on to achieve the (apparently improbable) feat of having my blood pressure drop to 53/26 while still remaining conscious…
Not sure that’s a skill I’m proud of.

Anyway, the main reason for this post is to give my most sincere thanks to the amazing @ceagittins and @laureneshearing, who stayed with through my entire hospital stint, which lasted til 4am.
They’d already performed in a world class comedy show that night, but still had reserves of kindness and fun to bring to an otherwise pretty bleak situation.
I have no idea what I’d have done without them, and indeed all of @austenimpro for sorting me out with a hotel to convalesce for a few days before I could make it home.

It had already been a rough time recently, for a bunch of reasons, so it’s really good to know that there are people who have got your back. by @spoilt_wolf

Last night I had an incredibly clear dream about being offered a gig. Not a big or exciting one, just a small scale local gig, but the premise was that you get to bring all your music kit and explain what it all does…
In the dream this was my exact setup.
So it appears that my main musical fantasy is not to be a rock star, or own priceless instruments, but rather for me to just do exactly what I do with what I already have, but for anyone to be interested in hearing me bang on about it… by @spoilt_wolf

Last week I achieved something of a milestone.

Not only did I play my first gig with @acidthrone , but after the show an audience member asked if they could have my setlist.

As a requester / stealer of many setlists in my younger years, this is the first time I’ve been asked for one of mine, so it means a lot.
Had to take a photo to mark the occasion (and also remember the song order for the next show).

If these are gonna be seen by other people, I should probably work on my handwriting!

I just finished Pierre’s book and it’s exceptional.
If you, or anyone you know has had a recent adult autism diagnosis, I couldn’t recommend this more.
In addition to being honest, fascinating and consistently hilarious, it’s been the greatest resource of information for me since I had my own diagnosis this year.
This is not something I’ve shared online, and to honest, probably wouldn’t have, but it’s an important detail to underline the significance of this for me personally.
Not just the book itself, but it was actually working on Pierre’s Fringe show last year that provoked me to look into the diagnosis in the first place. And the big man also pointed me in the direction of some invaluable resources for that.
So help me return the favour and buy this.
If you want to know how much I mean it, consider how painful it was to hold a hardback book in one hand (without obscuring the text) long enough to get this shot right... by @spoilt_wolf
