While on a backcountry canoeing trip in Ontario’s Quetico Provincial Park, an Overwatch x Rescue subscriber, sent an SOS alert to our Crisis Response Center (CRC) from a @SPOT_llc device.

Our team immediately gathered critical details to coordinate a response:
📞 Spoke with emergency contacts to confirm the trip itinerary and lack of cell service
🤝 Escalated the case through the appropriate nearby local authorities
📍 Provided continuous live-tracking data to guide local Search & Rescue operations

Due to the extreme remoteness of the trip, responders deployed a float plane. Guided by coordinates relayed by our team, crews spotted the camper’s visual markers from the air and safely completed the extraction.

The backcountry does not forgive the unprepared.
Make sure you have a lifeline with Overwatch x Rescue on your SPOT device. by @spot_llc

Your boat may be docked. That doesn’t mean you have to lose sight of it. 🚤

With SPOT Trace, boat owners can keep tabs on their vessel with satellite-powered GPS tracking, even beyond the reach of cellular networks.

SPOT Trace can alert you when movement is detected and lets you track your boat’s location, giving you greater visibility whether it’s at the marina, in storage or out on the move.

More time enjoying the water. More confidence when you’re away from it. 🌊
