Legend has it our Chilli Fried Egg Sandwich has been keeping people up at night!

Try it.

It may reappear in your dreams.

We use Sourdough bread from the amazing @e5poplarbakehouse for all our Sandwiches and Toasties, paired with our self made fillings and condiments our sandwiches and toasties are stealing hearts!

Perilla Kimchi Workshop!

Vegan & Gluten Free

Join us for a day of community kimchi making In the scenic open access community garden based in the heart of Stratford with deep historical roots.

Where our local gardens Dr Zhen & Hua are growing an abundance of perilla leaves which they’ve kindly offered to share with us for this workshop.

Perilla leaves are widely used in east and south East Asian cooking. Their bold aromatic flavours are a great addition to any dish making it a wonderful ingredient to use for kimchi.

We’ll be adapting a recipe by the amazing Maangchi.

Harvesting!
Prepping vegetables!
Mixing kimchi sauce!
Combining with perilla leaves!
Jarring up the finished product!

A beautiful way to enjoy your Sunday - exploring a traditional culinary craft using fresh organic ingredients whilst cooking together in a welcoming community setting.

Welcome back for another great year of Jazz at the Cockpit. We are launching into Autumn with your 2 new hosts, Emma Jackson and Lauren Breen, who are very excited to be taking over the reins from Toby Young.

For the first instalment Lauren and Emma are bringing a lovely double alto quintet called ‘Alto Summit’, paying homage to legendary alto players. As well as this, we are excited to welcome back the @calumgourlay Big Band, playing original arrangements and compositions.

Lauren and Emma are hitting it off with an exciting Double Alto Quintet, paying homage to some of their favourite alto legends. They will be bringing original arrangements of tunes by jazz legends such as Vincent Herring, Gary Bartz, Phil Woods, Cannonball Adderley and Jackie Mclean. Joining them will be Louis Lodder on Piano, Freddie Canton on double Bass and Carter Harris on Drums.

Calum Gourlay is a Scottish jazz double bassist, composer and bandleader based in London. Originally from Glasgow, he is a key figure in the Uk jazz scene, performing with artists such as Kit Downes, Trish Clowes, Kurt Ellington and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.

Spring Cafe will be providing our infamous toasties, delicious muffins and tarts at @creeksidediscoverycentre Open Day 2026!

Open from 11am - 3pm.

Expect a fun day of activities, talks, educational and creative workshops aaaand delicious food and sweet treats!
This is a great event for the whole family to learn about the ecology in the Creek and all the life that subsides in the local waters.
You’ll also get to meet the amazing artists behind this new mural and the amazing people who look after the waterways!

We’re Re-OPEN!

We hope that everyone has had a lovely August!

After reviewing our menu, we have had to make the difficult decision of raising our prices (only slightly) for some of our menu items.

After reviewing our margins, it seems our markup prices are lower than average.

A small change in price goes a long way for us, and will allow us to move towards our targets.

Great news, we’ll be offering 10% discount cards to everyone who follows our Instagram page, gives us a google review and likes and comments on our posts!

We’re super excited to reopen and look forward to seeing all our regulars and some lovely new faces!
