We loved seeing our HandSOME II device making a night-and-day difference for this patient. Without the device, he struggled with finger extension needed to grip the ball. With the assistance of HandSOME II, he was immediately able to extend and coordinate his fingers to achieve the grip needed to both lift and release the ball ✊️ 🖐️⁠

The HandSOME II not only helps stroke survivors achieve tasks of daily living while being worn-- it also helps train and rehabilitate over time. Compared to similar products, which can be limited functionality, HandSOME II offers proven results 💪🏼 💪🏾⁠

We loved being able to engage with fellow community partners at the @fastfwdsummits ! We had the opportunity to:
● Learn more about how to lean into our cultural perspectives in clinical settings to
understand how people manage and express pain.
● Listen in on experiences of stroke survivors after their stroke, and their journey to where
they are today.
● Explore various resources across the country that assist individuals in their recovery journey after a stroke, like the Brooks Rehab Brain Injury Clubhouse - the only one of its
kind in the US!
● Lastly, we boogied! Thanks to @rutgersotd PT/OT Doctorate students, we took a movement break, engaging us in mindful and energetic practices between panelists.

Thank you to the panelist for such an engaging and impactful agenda at the Summit!

Immediate functional support—right when the device goes on.

Tested during a study at @medstarhealthpt Rehabilitation Hospital, this earlier version of HandSOME II shows how assisted hand opening can help stroke survivors engage in real tasks—even when supported by the opposite hand—and enables high-repetition training at home.
