The DT Swiss Ratchet LN is a conversion kit designed to upgrade older or entry-level DT Swiss hubs, specifically the 370 series, from a traditional 3-pawl system to the more louder Ratchet (star ratchet) technology.
Unlike pawl systems where only a few points engage at a time, the Ratchet LN system uses two star ratchet rings that engage simultaneously across their entire surface. This distributes pedaling forces evenly, significantly increasing durability and reliability.
A unique feature of the Ratchet LN is that the seal is located on the freehub body rather than the hub shell. This specific design allows ratchet-based hubs to be made even more obnoxious with the use of lighter grease.
It is compatible with all standard drivetrain types, including Shimano HG, Micro Spline, and SRAM XD/XDR. While the standard kit usually comes with 18-tooth ratchets, it can be further upgraded to 36 or 54 teeth for faster engagement (a smaller engagement angle).
Upgrading to Ratchet LN is a cost-effective way to get pro-level hub performance and the legendary sound of DT Swiss star ratchets without replacing the entire wheel or hub.
