Things are about to get a little weird and wacky at Sprouts!

Join us for a very special terrarium workshop with award-winning plant expert Michael Perry, AKA @mr_plantgeek, as he takes over our HQ at @willwayyard for an afternoon of unusual plants, fascinating stories and plenty of plant geekery!

This isn’t your average terrarium workshop. You’ll get hands-on creating your very own miniature world filled with weird and wonderful plants, all while learning from someone who’s spent over 20 years exploring the fascinating world of horticulture.

Expect expert tips, plenty of laughs and the chance to ask Michael all your burning plant questions. Plus, you’ll head home with your very own one-of-a-kind terrarium!

Whether you’re a seasoned plant collector or just love getting creative, this is a workshop you won’t want to miss.

Join us on Saturday 24th October at @willwayyard for a plant-packed evening with the amazing, award-winning plant influencer @mr_plantgeek and his Weird & Wacky Plant Show!

The modern-day plant hunter Michael Perry will be joining us at Sprouts in Bedminster for a fascinating and interactive journey through some of the world’s weirdest and most wonderful plants.

You’ll even get the chance to try a miracle berry, a mind-boggling little fruit that temporarily transforms sour and bitter flavours into sweet ones!

Having worked in horticulture for over 20 years with names including Thompson & Morgan, BBC Gardeners’ World and the RHS, Michael’s work has taken him across Africa, Asia, America and Europe. Expect first-hand stories from his travels, expert plant knowledge, weird plant discoveries and plenty of laughs as we indulge in some serious Plant Geekery.

We’ve been working with Bristol's premier plant shop, Sprouts of Bristol for the past year. ☘️

From moving plants and soil between sites to delivering orders to customers, we’ve carried quite a few plants around town on our cargo bikes, from huge Monsteras all the way down to super-fragile Irises. It’s always a good sight seeing a bike full of greenery making its way through the city: judging by the number of people who stop to have a look, we’re not the only ones who think so.

Happy 6th birthday, Sprouts! 🥳 Here’s to another year of plants getting around Bristol by bike.

OMG I can’t actually believe it, how is Sprouts SIX!

Sprouts is the longest thing I have ever done in my life, longer than school, longest job and it feels wild that in many ways it still feels like we are only just getting started.

From an idea that began in our spare bedroom, out of boredom and the longing for something more from my life with a bit more autonomy over my future, now look how far we have bloody come.

I have to thank Tom, my husband, for standing by my crazy ideas through all of these years, even with the financial burden that running a small business has not only on our life, but also the long hours and consistently helping me through the frustration. So thank you Tom for sticking with me & Sprouts, through the good times and the bad. And I also need to thank the entire Sprouts team, past, present and future, for jumping on board this rollercoaster with me and pushing us up and up! And lastly, thanks to all our wonderful customers and supporters for your reviews, your words of kindest and to all of you who shop with us, we literally wouldn't be celebrating 6 without you.

One of Bristol’s best-loved plant shops is back at the Bristol Rare Plants & Orchid Fair this Saturday. And if their incredible stand at our April fair is anything to go by, expect an absolute jungle. 👀🌱

Sprouts will be joining our line-up of specialist growers with a huge selection of indoor plants, botanical treasures and unusual additions for plant lovers of every kind. There’s also of course aroids from @ecuagenera and unusual outdoor plants.
