I’ve struggled with low confidence for most of my life and that really got tested even more when I started sharing my art online years ago.

Additionally, monetizing your passions can cause additional friction in what used to be strictly for pleasure. Question marks start popping up everywhere, stress to “make it work” etc.

These four reminders are not unique or revolutionary but they are simple. They help keep me grounded and hold my confidence in a steady place. by @sprysaplingstudio

I always feel so lucky to be trusted with pet portraits. They really are one of my favorite things to draw.

A design for Portland Nannies’ week-long nanny appreciation event!

Every time I’ve collaborated with Elizabeth, I’m given creative freedom, thoughtful feedback and the validation that my illustrations mean something.

I created two variations for use on apparel items that were given away during the week to lucky Portland Nannies. Here is the lighthouse tote! I’m so happy with how it turned out. ☀️ by @sprysaplingstudio

October is OCD awareness month 🎃

this is a fairly long and thorough post, but I felt it was applicable during this time of year! I also have now been on sertraline for five months now and wanted to share a little bit about that too.

I have had quite the journey with this disorder since I was a kid and have accepted that I will have it for the rest of my life. Sometimes I feel a lot of grief about the lost time and potential peace I could have had sooner, but I’m medicated now, baby!!!

If you or someone you know is struggling with OCD-like symptoms (there are tons of sub types too, compulsions are sneaky) - I encourage you to contact a mental health professional, who is OCD informed.

You are not your thoughts, and you are not alone in this 🧡 by @sprysaplingstudio

One of my favorite little shops! @openstudioportland has all the best washi tape, small little things you want to pick up and greeting cards galore! 💌

I truly could spend hours at this little shop and I had to capture it. Cheers to stationery & cheers to the weekend ahead. ❤️ A hand drawn illustration of Open Studio, a stationery shop in Portland Maine. taken in Portland, Maine by @sprysaplingstudio
