My first 100 mile finish at the Run Rabbit Run 100 Miler is one I'll forever hold close to my heart. This was a special race, and I'm still riding Cloud 9 from the epicness of the day(s).

There was never a doubt in my mind that I wasn't going to finish this race. Didn't really know when or how, but knew I could, and I crossed the finish line in 30 hours and 34 minutes.

I owe so much to my amazing crew and pacers, who I felt were quite literally with me every step of the way. Felt like I packed up my whole closet to be as prepared as I possible could be for the expected and unexpected conditions, and my crew was ready for whatever we needed to do to get me to the finish line. Thank you to my honey Cole, Heidi, and Jordan for being the true all-stars.

I had three big goals - 1] Finish the race. 2] Stay warm. 3] Run the last 10K, which was downhill on a ski road; and I was able to check all three of those off. Those goals structured my whole execution of the day.

My heart is full. My spirit is soaring. Thank you to my family, friends, and community for believing in me, following me, and sending messages - this is an experience I'll never forget. Can't wait to share more with you soon. 💞

I've recently been inspired by a couple of my coworkers who are a part of a run club in Santa Barbara, and I thought, man! I'd love to start something like that. I've personally found so much joy sharing miles with my family and friends along the bike path, and I think it's one of God's greatest gifts to be able to share that joy with others.

I invite you to join the American River Run Club, meeting up for a run, walk, or whatever you'd like on Monday nights along the American River bike path. This is casual running all. Like, let's meet up for a run and hit the trails together.

This could be totally lame, but I really hope it isn't. There's nothing I crave more than community, and I can't be the only one who feels like running together just fuels the spirit and adds extra endorphins to the day! So, if you're also craving some joy and company during your runs, then come out and join us.

A little end of the season, but not end of the tradition! Feeling so grateful for this incredible community of friends that the American River Run Club has brought into my life. What started as easy Monday night jogs along the bike path with Dad, turned into group runs keeping us motivated to kick off the week right.

Thank you for showing up.
Being consistent.
Holding me accountable.
Being AMAZING humans!

Cheers to an epic season of Monday night runs, pickle beers, chicken drumsticks, and our amazing community!

See you in January 🫡

This weekend, I was supposed to head over to Salt Lake City and toe the line at the iconic Wasatch 100 Miler. Two hundreds in one year? Didn't seem too bad at the time when my name got pulled in the lottery. People do multiple hundreds in a year all the time.

But instead, I'm taking some time off to focus on my health - both mentally and physically and I'm actually really enjoying the time not training for something.

Instead, I'm taking the time to reflect on the incredible year of accomplishments I've had and will continue to celebrate. Salmon Falls 50K, Miwok 100k, running the Tahoe Rim Trail, and completing the High Lonesome 100 miler.

Instead, I'm looking ahead to supporting my husband in his upcoming racing, including the Mammoth Tuff bike ride and @mammothtrailfest. It's one of my favorite things to do, supporting my partner doing the things he loves!

There's this weird social media pressure that you always have to do more and it's taking me some time, and still taking time, to realize that you don't always have to do more to feel accomplished. Sometimes, celebrating small wins like sunflowers growing or getting a good night sleep is just as worth of being celebrated.

Anywho, while I'm disappointed to not be running Wasatch this weekend, it's also okay that I'm not. by @spunkylilpip

When I'm not running, I'm doing a lot of other things that are just as magical✨️ like..

Working on my garden
Enjoying a Hugo Spritz
Preparing for epic volunteer days ahead
Doing candle making or whatever
Going to the movies
Painting cabinets
Floating the river
Crewing my husband
Enjoying time with Robie
Organizing the heck out of our home
Scrapbooking - to remind myself that I don't have to keep doing more or chasing something greater, and that I can enjoy the incredible things I've done this year. I'll forever celebrate these epic memories - the 36 hours longer runs, down to enjoying the simple moments in our backyard, or having a favorite drink or whatever. ❤️

My reminder to the social world that we don't have to keep doing more to feel accomplished and successful, but we can feel all those things oftentimes by looking at what's right in front of you. by @spunkylilpip

It truly is a great story to tell.

Yes, we are binge watching all the Lord of the Rings movies right now, so naturally this speech is hitting hard!

BTS at the High Lonesome 100.

Races are always magical to me. I mean... are you kidding me? I get to run 100 miles through the mountains. ✨

But magic doesn't mean it's easy.

Miles 0–50 felt incredible. The climbs came naturally (minus the grind back up to Laws Pass), my fueling was on point, I stayed on top of my hydration, and I genuinely felt like I was floating. As the sun started to set, though, the fatigue crept in. I had planned to wait until mile 49 to have caffeine with my crew, but around mile 38 I cracked open a Coke for a little extra life.

Seeing my crew for the first time at mile 49 was probably the most emotional moment of the entire race. The day had already felt so long, and finally seeing familiar faces filled my cup. I left that aid station energized with Cole by my side... but not long after, the wheels started to come off.

The night section humbled me.

The trails suddenly felt far more technical than they had during the day. My feet hurt in a way I'd never experienced before, and my appetite completely disappeared. Getting calories in became a battle. Seeing Daisy at Lost Wonder Hut breathed some life back into me, and she reminded me to lean into my faith. That simple reminder carried more weight than she'll probably ever know.

Purgatory lived up to its name.

Cole and I sat there for a while. I was frustrated because I knew I was capable of running this terrain better, but my body wasn't cooperating. Eventually, we got moving again and were rewarded with one of the most beautiful sunrises I've ever witnessed.

The second half became a constant balancing act between foot pain and low energy. Over nearly 16 hours, I managed only five or six gels and a few bites of aid station food. Instead of forcing the pace, Cole and I shifted our focus. We celebrated every small win. Every completed climb. Every switchback. Every time I felt overwhelmed, there was another hug waiting for me.

When daylight returned, so did a little bit of energy. I knew every step was bringing me closer to the finish. At mile 83, I picked up my friend Sing, and for the final seven miles, my dad joined me.

I call this chapter, the one where I finished the High Lonesome 100 miler.

I'm so incredibly proud of this effort. When I was running with my friend Sing from 83 miles to 92, he turned around and said 90 miles! I thought to myself, hitting 90 miles should never not be a big deal. Every race that I do, every 100 mile I finish (or start) will always be a big deal for me and as long as it stays that way, I'll keep showing up.

High Lonesome was probably one of the hardest races I've ever completed. 100 miles, hitting a max elevation of 13,200, and remaining above 10,000ft for nearly 70% of the course, 23,500ft of Elevation Gain. I can tell you as a flatlander down here in Sacramento, I knew the elevation was going to be tough and it absolutely was. Fortunately the bloody nose came after that race!🤭

I have so much I want to say right now, but I want to thank my husband Cole, my mom and dad, and my friend Sing for coming out and supporting me. I could have done this race solo, drop bags, and maybe pushed myself through on my own, but that wasn't what I wanted to do. It's because of them, my friends, and community supporting me from a far is truly what made this race that much more special and earning another 100 Mile buckle I'll hold dear to my heart.

Thank you to the High Lonesome team, volunteers, and organization for setting a HIGH standard for race experience for jot just the runners, but for crews too!!

To be seen is to be loved, and I feel so seen. Thank you ❤️

I'm so excited to toe the line at the High Lonesome 100 Miler tomorrow morning at 5am PST!

When I've approached big races, I find my mind wandering getting closer to race day feeling like I didn't do enough and I wasn't ready. The truth is that I am ready, and I'm as ready as I can be.

I'm reminded of that as I reflect back on the hundreds of miles covered over the past 7 months with friends, covering the same routes and exploring new ones too. Each season of training always bring new growth for me, and this time it really was about cherishing my time and respecting who was deserving of that. At the end of the day, time isn't endless.

I think thats why I've approached these races with so much gratitude and peace because I get to spend 30+ hours in the mountains tomorrow. No distractions. No anxiety. Just running around and taking care of what's right in front of me.

So tomorrow, I'll carry these memories and miles with me as a reminder of how much I've grown this season, but also as a reminder of how strong I really am because of the work put in!

Follow along tracking in my bio! XOXO.
