Monday nights - starting the week off right!

Thank you to those who joined us tonight - we had a fabulous run out to Bannister and back from the Fair Oaks village. Even with warmer temps, running in the shade and along the river helps, even if it's just a little cooler 😮‍💨

Happy Monday! Loved running into so many run club friends at the Western States Finish line this past weekend.

Today (6/29) we're meeting up at Movement Brewing in Ranvho Cordova. $5 pints for Monday Nights, and Italian bros pizza food truck!

Pacing this guy tomorrow at @wser! I met Jacob three and a half years ago at a @runinrabbit photoshoot, and he’s been such a great friend ever since. We’ve done more runs, video projects, family portrait sessions (which he normally doesn’t do but makes a special exception as a beautiful favor to my family), and race meetups than I can count! He even shot video and crewed/paced me last year at @badwaterhq. I would do anything for him and I know he would do the same for me!

And as fate would have it, his other pacer is the guy I paced to a M9 finish at the 2023 Western States 100! It was one of the most special race moments I’ve ever been a part of. Cole is another great friend of mine and I’m honored to share another Western States with him, albeit in a different fashion this time. I’ve always believed that everything happens for a reason, and this squad sure feels divinely inspired to me!

So if you don’t have a dog in the fight, you do now! Bib #29. Follow along tomorrow on the livestream, which will be commentated by my friends @corrinemalcolm and @dylanbo on the Western States YouTube channel. Almost time to shred. LET’S GOOO!!!

On the 10th Day of Statesmas, I did all the things! The Hoka shakeout run, all the selfies, talking with friends, making new friends, 2 live audience podcasts, and a fantastic movie screening of Raise The Bar! My heart is full and my cup runeth over! I should sleep good tonight 😴

A few snippets from the last couple of weeks!

Mostly just good training days with great people.
Plus a quick visit to Reno to watch my brother get married! (Swipe to the end to see Adam & I all dressed up!)

I’m putting off staring my season for about a month to prioritize stacking weeks and getting fitter.

But I am oh so grateful to be feeling healthy (and maybe sucking wind a little) up in Olympic Valley, spectating friends & teammates @acg @brokenarrowskyrace & of course crewing my better half @wser !

It’s GLOBAL RUNNING DAY 🌍🏃‍♀️🌻⛰️✨

Wow running. Where do I start? It all started for me at the age of 7 when I ran for second place at the Disney Kids Mile - this was a real confidence boost for little Emma😂😂. That’s when I think I truly fell in love with the sport. Flash forward a few years and no track team in middle or high school so running was put on pause until college. Ran in college and didn’t try very hard but I did have fun! But man I didn’t know how to train, fuel or pick the right shoes 😂🤷🏼‍♀️. Deep down the goal was always to qualify and run Boston - but the marathon seemed so TOUGH - I didn’t think I had it in me. Post college I didn’t run much for 6 years (a mile or two here and there). Then 2 years after I got married my husband Luke started running again, so I joined him. This round was life changing. It was really challenging getting back in shape but so worth it. I truly believe God gave me the ability to run for a reason, and I’m so truly blessed by it. Through it I have been changed as a person, have made so many amazing friendships and so many incredible memories. Wherever running takes me in the future, I’m forever grateful for the gift it’s been in my life. Thank you to all of you on this journey with me - & for being crazy enough to get up at 4am too 🫶🏼🫡🥹💪🥳

I could never say "thank you" enough to the sport that's given me so much, and to the wonderful friends I've made along the way.

The amazing thing about running is that it's such a deeply personal journey, and yet also so deeply routed in community. We all go farther, together. And wherever you are in life, whatever you're going through - a run will help. I promise ♥️
