Sometimes God gotta take everything just to rebuild you into everything.

Grateful for the ones who stood with me through the storms and watched the rise from who I was… to who I’m becoming.
This wasn’t pretty, and it wasn’t easy, but God gives His toughest battles to soldiers He refuses to lose.

Those who built the wall worked with one hand and held a weapon in the other. – Nehemiah 4:17 building while fighting.

2025 laid the foundation.
2026 is the takeover.

I did a thing today.

Today I officially became a member of 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, and I’m truly humbled.

I never imagined I’d one day be in a position where I could help lead, mentor, and serve my community in this capacity. This isn’t just an achievement, it’s a responsibility that I don’t take for granted.

Representation matters. Young people deserve to see leaders who look like them, believe in them, and remind them that success has many paths.

Thank you to the brothers of 100 Black Men of Los Angeles for this opportunity. I’m excited to get to work.

If you’ve never heard of this organization, I encourage you to take a few minutes to learn about the incredible work they’re doing. You may even find a way to become part of the mission.

What they see is what they’ll become. 🖤💯 @100blackmenla @o.sograteful #100blackmen by @spydaforthewin

I want to congratulate @tysonfoundation and @we2matter for putting on an incredible event for an important cause. 🥊❤️

Last week, The Tyson Foundation and We 2 Matter came together in Los Angeles for the 2026 100 Women Matter Annual Gala, highlighting the stories, resilience and successful reentry of formerly incarcerated women.

This work is bigger than one night.

Women face a unique set of challenges within the criminal justice system and when returning home. About 58% of women in U.S. prisons are mothers of minor children, meaning incarceration often impacts entire families — not just the person serving time.

Pregnancy and childbirth also happen behind bars. Research tracking U.S. correctional facilities has documented women entering custody while pregnant and hundreds of women giving birth while incarcerated in a single year.

And the problems don’t stop there. Incarcerated women can face:

• Separation from their children and families
• Sexual abuse and harassment
• Challenges accessing adequate reproductive and mental-health care
• Inconsistent access to menstrual and hygiene products
• Privacy concerns involving cross-gender supervision
• Housing and employment barriers after release
• The difficulty of rebuilding financially after incarceration

These aren’t hypothetical issues. Just this week, the U.S. Department of Justice found that two California women’s prisons failed to adequately protect incarcerated women from staff sexual abuse and harassment. Investigators reviewed hundreds of allegations of staff sexual misconduct.

That’s why organizations focused on reentry, housing, counseling, employment, education and second chances matter.

Special recognition to Dr. Rita Ali, founder of We 2 Matter, whose personal experience with the criminal justice system helped inspire this mission, and to Mike Tyson and the Mike Tyson Cares Foundation/The Tyson Foundation for helping support and elevate this work.

Second chances need more than words. They need resources, community and opportunity.
