We’re making signs and we need YOUR help! This fall, MAGA is threatening to disrupt and intimidate our right to vote and we’re saying #HandsOffOurVote

But there’s a role for everyone in this fight! We’re calling upon creators, illustrators, and folks who know their way around some markers to join us to start this fall & make signs that local businesses can hang in their storefront to show solidarity with communities in saying #HandsOffOurVote! So far this summer, I’ve felt anger, grief, & uncertainty.
Anger for the world as it is. Grief for the world as it was.
And uncertainty about the world as it may be. And amidst it all, I find my daily joy in conversations over chai, dreaming with rebel scum, laughs that can travel across oceans, and prayers that admittedly start with
“my nigga...” In a world so captured by division and misinformation, it is our duty to be immense, to be honest, and to fight for our freedom

This weekend @wethepeople_actionfund held Power Camp where we trained 130 leaders across the state of Michigan to go into their communities as changemakers organzing others! This included folks from Detroit, Benton Harbor, Cadillac, Traverse, Ann Arbor, Marquette, Niles, Lansing, Mt Pleasant and a few more spots! All folks united in a fight for: housing, education, mental health, immigrant rights, and protecting our trans + queer community!

I was so happy to invest in some of our @gingerroot313 leaders that did not experience power camp last year but have been stepping up so far this year. Proud of Justin Dale who is leading on the types of programs and investments we want our cities and state to be making into our communities! Additionally I was so proud of Dan Green who facilitated our team this year! And so proud of Timothy Bent who facilitated & launched his own team this weekend! They’ll be organizing folks in Conant Gardens, Detroit around some things that are super exciting!

At WTPAF, and in GRoot we believe that we all deserve dignity and equity & restoration and it’s our duty to fight for our freedom. by @srchengn

Go to your average public meeting with public officials and you will find that young adults are severely underrepresented! And so GRoot is asking “What if there was a townhall series that created a direct pipeline for young adults to grow more civically engaged!”
