Today we had the opportunity to reconnect with alumni, celebrate with Dean Vemala, congratulate raffle winner Adam Smith, and spend time with so many friends of the program.

One surprise was discovering conference signage announcing SRU ASSP's recognition as the 2026 Outstanding Student Section of the Year (OSSA). Seeing that displayed for attendees from across the profession was a special moment.

This recognition reflects the efforts of many students, alumni, faculty, and industry partners who continue to support our program and student section.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to say hello. We are grateful to be part of such a strong safety community.

Highlights so far from Anaheim Safety 2026!

We are incredibly proud of our Slippery Rock University ASSP Student Section for earning the Outstanding Student Section Award (OSSA). It is great to engage with safety professionals, industry leaders, and ASSP leadership throughout the conference.

Special thanks to ASSP CEO Jennifer McNelly, President Linda Tapp, and the many leaders who took time to encourage and connect with our student, Jillian Stahl who made it for the ceremony from her internship with PCL Construction in San Diego.

Congratulations to all of our student members whose hard work made this recognition possible. SRU alumni, please join us for a Pic in front of the grand plaza fountain tomorrow, gather at 11am and pic at 11:05am. The Dean of the Haverlack College of Business, Dr. Prasad Vemala made the trip and is looking forward to meeting you! Looking forward to another great year!
