Meet the Sisters

Hello, hi, welcome! 👋🏼

It’s been a minute, and we figured we’d take the time to introduce/reintroduce ourselves. We are Kelly & Maddy, the sisters-in-law. That’s right, we married brothers! How cool is it to find out your ssil is also obsessed with reading? We decided to take this hobby to the gram and it’s been the most fun.

We’re big fans of supporting Minnesota bookstores and meeting fellow book lovers all around the twin cities. Catch us at author events, book swaps, and the occasional book themed party 🎉

Romance readers by heart, but love a good recommendation that’s outside our norm. If you’re ever on the fence about a spicy / wild book, we’re your girls. We’ll read em all! 😉

A grumpy rockstar + a joyful children’s show creator set in a small town. Yes, please! This was such a cute romance, giving all the cozy fall vibes. Griffin, a famous singer-songwriter needs help with his sophomore album. Beverly, is in need of support for keeping the children’s show she produces alive. The two wind up together on set and their chemistry + banter appear to be bigger than just for the stage. They both can benefit from one another, but will the cozy mountain, small town, be the place where music is sparked and a show can go on?

Annalise and Mackenzie are the definition of swoon. A PhD candidate who sticks to facts & figures, and an attractive musician roommate who is down bad and isn’t scared to show Annalise that maybe the universe DOES have a way with timing.

If you like magical realism, Kate has mastered the genre. This book is like a warm cup of hot chocolate [and yes, they drink it in the book, a secret recipe obvs]. Annalise and Mackenzie have the best slow burn/yearning story that you cling to. The side characters are 🤌🏼

Can’t wait to add the physical to this stunning lineup of magical books 💫

These two books were perfect reads to meet our September theme. Both small town romances, one that includes a cozy bed and breakfast and another a cozy little bookstore. Gloomy days are made better with @bookofthemonth selections dropping for the next month! Kind of surprised there weren’t as many thriller options, but we stuck with our faves. It’s Kelly’s birthday month, and members get a FREE add-on!

It felt fitting to squeeze in a twisty thriller to kick off fall, and we know Freida never misses!

Debbie Mullen is messy and chaotic and the perfect mix of unhinged to be the main character. For years she’s been giving advice to women on her Dear Debbie column, that is, until her life completely unravels. Losing her job, dealing with teenage daughters, and a husband who’s acting a little more shady lately, it’s time for Debbie to take her own advice. It’s time to for payback.

If you love twists and turns in a thriller, you’ll enjoy this one! The audio was amazing. With @justjuliawhelan @januarylavoy and @thescottbrick they brought the story to life!

We see you fall, but it’d be a disservice not to review this summery romance before we welcome the PSL + ghosty vibes.

Christina and Lauren nailed this contemporary romance with such a different storyline that it quite literally combines romance + crime + sci-fi.

Emery, a woman in STEM, has always lived a life dedicated to her work. She loves her husband, Luca, but sometimes finds herself married to the job more. Luca, a landscaper, is the carefree golden retriever everyone loves, including Betty, his older neighbor. When an accident puts the two in a position to start over, will they take advantage of this second chance?

We both snagged the ARC for @authormorganelizabeth ‘Meet Cute Magic’ and goodness what a way to kick off fall [early]! You mean to tell us it’s a small town romance with a witch, a sexy gaming store owner, and a meddling ghost? All the vibes! There’s Morgan’s usual banter + spice, but the yearniiiiing! If you’re in the mood for a fun little fall romance that’s also a little paranormal, go snag this one!

A rainy day walk led to a solid book find at Kelly’s @littlefreelibrary 📚

@hannahbrown third book from, ‘Mistakes We Never Made’ series, is a classic romcom, beach read! Having read the other two in the series, you can expect this one to be just as fun.
