Yesterday unfortunately was not our day on the water. We sailed well but with some unforced errors we were unable to convert the races into wins and lost our spot in the quarter final on count back. We’re disappointed not to keep fighting but grateful to have been in the fight. Best of luck to all the remaining competitors, we are looking forward to cheering you on and finding out who the next world champion will be!

Thankyou so much for all the support and best wishes. We are so proud to be part of such a wonderful sailing community.

Can’t wait to keep pushing and come back even stronger.

Newport. Complete. 🧡

20 teams. 10 races. Five days of racing in a fleet of identical IC37s at the inaugural NYYC Women’s International Championship.

We arrived in Newport as a new combination, in a new boat, racing together for the first time.

And we kept building.

As Katie Spithill said, “Our biggest win as a team is we never made the same mistake twice.”

The result: 5th overall, and the highest-placed team from outside North America.

But this campaign was about more than the result.

For co-founder Stacey Jackson, it’s about what comes next: “We want to keep creating opportunities for female sailors to come together and compete at the highest level.”

None of it happens without the partners, supporters, friends and family who backed the team and the vision, and helped make Newport possible.

And this is another important step in the process of building our team and our mission.

The journey continues. 🧡

The New York Yacht Club Inaugural Women’s International Championship was about so much more than racing.

It was about the world’s best women coming together with a shared dream to show the world what we can do.

For us there were moments when things didn’t go to plan. Moments that tested us. But there were also moments that reminded us exactly why we do this.

We leave this regatta incredibly proud. Not just of how we raced, but knowing we continue to be part of the change and the inspiration for the women who will one day stand on a start line and dream even bigger.

To everyone who has believed in us, supported us, cheered for us and shared this journey — thank you. You are part of this story too. 🙏🙏

FIFTH OVERALL! 🧡🇦🇺

Shaw and Partners Women Racing finishes the inaugural NYYC Women’s International Championship in 5th overall and as the first non-North American boat.

What a week.

So many learnings, so much growth and a team that just kept getting better as the regatta went on, finishing the final day with a third and a second*.

We are incredibly happy with what we achieved here in Newport, but we also know how much we left on the table.

And perhaps that’s the most exciting part.

This is another chapter in what we’re building. There’s plenty more to come. 💪🏻🧡

“TODAY WAS DAY ONE.” 🧡

Co-founders Katie Spithill and Stacey Jackson talk us through a much stronger day on the water in Newport.

The team is looking at today as Day One. Things clicked, the speed was there and the results followed with back-to-back seconds in Races 5 and 6, followed by a sixth in Race 7.

The team finishes the day 8th overall, with confidence building and plenty more racing to come.

IT’S RACE DAY! 🇺🇸⛵️🧡

Shaw and Partners Women Racing are ready to go for Day 1 of the inaugural New York Yacht Club Women’s International Championship!

Boat 20 is ours for the regatta, and with Harbour Court providing a pretty spectacular backdrop, we’re ready to get racing.

Five days of racing starts now. Stay tuned to our Stories throughout the day, where we’ll keep you posted with results and updates from the water, and of course we’ll have daily wraps right here on our feed.

THE CO-FOUNDERS 🧡

Two very different sailing careers. One shared vision.

Katie Spithill and Stacey Jackson are the co-founders of Shaw and Partners Women Racing, bringing together decades of experience at the highest levels of the sport.

Katie is one of Australia’s most accomplished match racers, a Women’s Match Racing World Championship silver medallist and multiple international event winner, with experience extending well beyond match racing, including a season steering Hooligan.

Stacey’s career has taken her around the world, literally. A two-time Volvo Ocean Race sailor, skipper of the groundbreaking Ocean Respect Racing campaign that finished second overall in the 2018 Sydney Hobart, an Admiral’s Cup winner with Jolt, and most recently part of The Famous Project crew that became the first all-female team to sail non-stop around the world.

Different pathways, but a shared belief that Australia has an extraordinary depth of female sailing talent, and that talent needs opportunities to come together.

That became Women Racing.

As Katie said at the launch, “Shaw and Partners Women Racing was never intended to be a single campaign or a single regatta.”

"The goal is bigger. Bring exceptional women together. Create meaningful opportunities. Build a platform that lasts beyond the finish line".

And this week in Newport, the next chapter begins as the team they have brought together takes on the inaugural New York Yacht Club Women’s International Championship.

1 WEEK TO GO 🇺🇸⛵️

This time next week, racing gets underway at the inaugural New York Yacht Club Women’s International Championship in Newport, Rhode Island.

The countdown is officially on for Shaw and Partners Women Racing 🧡

Months of planning, preparation and plenty happening behind the scenes have brought us to this point, and now the team is on the move.

Some are already in the US, more begin their journeys tomorrow, and the rest of the team follows on Thursday as we make our way to Newport.

Training and registration begins this weekend before five days of fleet racing from September 15–19.

A huge thank you to our partners for backing this team and making this campaign possible. We couldn’t do it without you 🧡

It’s getting very real now.

Alongside the official launch of Shaw and Partners Women Racing, last weekend's training camp was another important step in our preparations for the inaugural New York Yacht Club Women's International Championship in Newport, Rhode Island.

Every session together is an opportunity to build teamwork, fine-tune the details and continue the journey towards September.
