Thank you @bbbookfestival for a stacked day of inspiring conversations, thought provoking topics and the opportunity to connect with so many talented and warm people in our community.

I went there as a solo day, and never once felt alone 🤎. Big up @shanika_wm, Kingston alum in the house, but this time not for graduation.

Main takeaway of the day: write the damn book, illustrate the damn book, whichever. Just finish something. ‼️

I’m not great with taking photos in the moment, but here’s some candids from the day:

3. So many speakers and topics. We took over the WHOLE Barbican, a beautiful thing to see
4. These are all book competition winners, now full time writers; note to self, look for book competitions 👀
5. I had to support @village_education, these flash cards are SO CUTE. Esme loves them.
6. Not one selfie was taken the whole day, so an “on the train home” shot will have to suffice.

Bilbao, Spain. Aug 2026

True story: This summer was not Leoing, but thanks to my husband he read the room and booked us a surprise trip for my birthday/anniversary/midlife crisis.

I didn’t know where we were going (even when I finally found out at boarding, I still didn’t know where tf Bilbao was…Brazil, Portugal?) I just knew we didn’t have the kids for a weekend - win, win.

All that to say, Bilbao was such a special place. The food, the views, the people, the art, the culture. And we defo lucked out being there for festival week 👌🏽

Pincho, Kalimotxo, Basque Cheesecake…if you don’t know, go and get to know.

Thanks Bilbao, you were EVERYTHING I needed (and props to my husband ♥️)

Bringing this moment back to the timeline.

5 years — the year of wood. Strong, steady, and growing. That’s us. What we’ve built together feels solid, rooted, and only getting stronger.

Marriage, children, mortgage, bills… all the things that test love in the realest way. And yet, what I’ve always known still stands true; we are strong, we listen, we learn, we keep choosing each other.

I step into this next chapter of our marriage with the same certainty I had when I said “I do” …maybe even more. You are my partner in love and in life, and everything we grow comes from that strength, that resilience, that love.

A ‘Hive Sistahood’ Mood.

It weren’t just about the eggs this break, I went OUT!

After a slow start to the year I really needed to get back out the house and stay true to my ‘put yourself out there’ promise I’d made to myself. So, after seeing some other SEN mum accounts talk about @__thehive___ events I thought…why not! I’m going to the next one.

I went by myself, I had to ask my husband not to let me talk myself out of it, and I wore that dress I bought in December.

Thank you to the amazing women I met that day 💖Everyone one of them made me feel welcome, seen and heard (even over the loud speakers). What an amazing community of women.

And big thank you to @lala_monese for creating a safe space for black SEN mums to show up and show out!

I made the MOST of my time off this Easter break.

A ‘Shit, I have a 14yr old son’ Mood.

My boy is 14! And I’m not going to lie, teenage years have been the most challenging to date (and we’re still in early days).

Mum and Son days/trips have always been a highlight to motherhood, and this trip didn’t disappoint. We talked, we spent quality time and we reconnected - is he still a moody teen? Yes, but all I can do is give him the memories so he remembers I cared.

Here’s to more life my boy ♥️
