For the second year in a row, I qualified for the UCI World Championships. 🇸🇱🚴🏾‍♂️

And for the second year in a row, I worked, sacrificed, and dreamed of representing Sierra Leone on one of the biggest stages in cycling.
But this year, I won’t be at the start line.

Not because I wasn’t strong enough.
Not because I didn’t qualify.
But because my visa to Canada was refused.

I understand that countries have immigration processes, but behind every application is a person — with a life, a story, and a dream.

As an African athlete, opportunities like this don’t come easily. I’ve worked hard to earn this chance, and it’s painful to have that opportunity taken away before I even reach the start line.

I can accept losing a race. I can accept being beaten by someone stronger.
But I want that decision to be made on the road.
I’m proud to be African. I’m proud to represent Sierra Leone. 🇸🇱

I’ll keep chasing my dreams, and I hope we can create a future where athletes from Africa and around the world are given the opportunity to compete for what they have worked so hard to earn.

Talent exists everywhere.
Dreams exist everywhere.
Opportunity should too.

I don’t want to be given a place at the starting line.
I want the opportunity to stand at the one I’ve already earned. 🚴🏾‍♂️💔 @sierraleonecyclingassociation @montreal_2026 @uci_cycling @immigrationnewscanada.ca taken in Dubai, United Arab Emirates by @staffa.k

This one hurts. 💔

After months of hard work, countless hours building my own TT bike, and putting a big part of my salary as a bike mechanic into this dream, I was ready to chase one of my biggest goals — competing at the UCI World TT race.

Then I woke up this morning to an email: Visa refused.

All that effort. All that time. All those sacrifices.
It’s hard to explain how disappointing that feels when you’ve given everything you have just for one opportunity.

This bike was never just a bike. It was a dream I built with my own hands.
For now, the start line is out of reach. But the dream isn’t over.
I’ll keep building. I’ll keep working. I’ll keep chasing it. 🚴‍♂️🔥

A DREAM PUT ON HOLD 🇸🇱💔🚴🏾‍♂️

I’m deeply disappointed that I will not be able to represent Sierra Leone at the UCI World Championships in Montréal 2026 after my visa application was refused.

We made every effort to prepare, including visa fees, flights, hotel reservations, and national team jerseys. Unfortunately, the application was refused due to insufficient evidence and documentation.

To the Cycling Federation of Sierra Leone, I hope this can be a lesson that we need better planning, communication, and unity. Internal disagreements should never come at the expense of our athletes and our opportunities to represent our country.

A special thank you to the Ministry of Sports, Director of Sports, National Olympic Committee, GO Cycling Dubai, and Honest for your support and belief in us. 🙏🏾

To our sponsors, please don’t give up on Sierra Leonean cycling. Your support means more than you know.

The World Championships may have passed me by this time, but the dream continues. 🇸🇱

We keep pushing. We keep believing.

A moment that we can never forget in the sport history of Sierra Leone🇸🇱No one is perfect. Every champion you admire started somewhere, made mistakes, faced setbacks, and kept going.

To every cyclist in Sierra Leone: believe in yourself. Stay disciplined. Stay focused. Train hard, even when no one is watching. Success doesn’t come overnight it comes through consistency, sacrifice, and determination.

Your journey may begin on the roads of Sierra Leone, but it can take you to the world stage. Never let doubt stop you from chasing your dreams. Keep pedaling, keep improving, and keep believing.

The world is waiting to see your talent. Your time is coming. 🚴🇸🇱💚

First training session on the track✌️I so feeling comfortable, smooth, and most importantly, enjoying every lap.

A great start to the race, and we’re excited to see what these legs can do when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone supporting me from near and far. Your messages and encouragement mean more than you know. Every step is for the people who believe in this journey.

I’m looking forward to represent brands and partners who share the same passion for performance, dedication, and growth. Let’s keep building something special together.

Today, I stand proud knowing that all the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication have led me to this incredible moment. 🇸🇱

It is an absolute honor to represent Sierra Leone at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Wearing my country’s colors is more than a dream come true it’s a responsibility and a privilege that I will never take for granted.

No matter the outcome, I am proud of how far I’ve come and grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. This journey is bigger than me it’s for my family, my supporters, and every young person in Sierra Leone who dares to dream.

Let’s make history together!
